Sharing buttons and switches with other Fords might make it feel less "truly special"...but it's also the reason millions of people will be able to afford it. This is Ford, not Pagani. It's a silly criticism. Everyone expects Ford to do this.

When building a new platform from the ground-up, there is opportunity to modernize and make everything new and special. Yes, they will need to spread the cost of tooling through their model lineup, but it can still launch on the Bronco, feeling special where it needs to, and become a parts bin source for future models that follow in the already proven success of this model. Look at the mustang: it has aircraft-style toggle switches throughout the center console, a bespoke gauge cluster reminiscent of the original pony, and still commands a market-leading introductory price tag.
@questioner15963 жыл бұрын
I prefer parts sharing because I'm more likely to find the part I want in stock at the auto parts store or auto wrecker. My old F250 needed a power window switch. All these trucks get stripped immediately when they get to wreckers, so I grabbed a switch from a Windstar minivan and it worked great.

And God forbid you try to modify the vehicle in any way shape or form lest you have the entire dash lit up like Christmas and pride month combined. NO! The full size Blazer is dead. Let it rest in peace.
@justfr4nk4683 жыл бұрын
@@bobhope2607 well blazer turning into an hideous SUV was inevitable without the guidance of bronco's styling, without the bronco, Chevrolet had no idea what the blazer should be, and just decided to turn it into a Camaro in high heels and enter it into the competition with Ford's escape or mitsubishi eclipse, BMW X3, literally all boring cross over SUVs, who have the off road capability of clearing a pebble while still scratching their bumpers, but yeah bronco is winning for now even though I'm not a ford guy, but I've to give it to them this time, well played ford but here's the thing, Chevy might realise soon what ford is doing and might turn the blazer back into a proper SUV, I mean that's what happened in the 70s, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again, oh boy that would be really interesting and fun to watch
@justfr4nk4683 жыл бұрын
@@jnzkngs yeah you're right, nowadays Chevrolet is just a boring brand with no spice, but here's the thing blazer started off after the bronco was released, and it broke records in sales, and if history tells me something, blazer name could return in upcoming years, and who knows it could be electric, and don't forget their brother Hummer, they came up with a pretty cool electric off road vehicle, and blazer can be adapted to that platform, and I wouldn't mind seeing an competitor for the bronco, otherwise it's just boring

I had a 84 bronco. It was my first vehicle. I bought it from a guy that was an ASE mechanic at Linton Ford, he also was an Okeechobee dirt track racer here in Florida. He bought it from his uncle where it was used as a highway patrol vehicle in Nebraska. Needless to say when I got it it was very tired and needed a new motor. So I took it down to Modifications Unlimited here in Palm Beach county. They told me that it had a Jasper stage 1 racing engine in it. So they called up Jasper and got another one, this is back in the day when you could get one for less than 3 Grand. It was a beast! That thing would pull the front tires off the ground. Too bad my brother wrapped around a tree years later, he couldn't handle the horsepower. From what I learned, don't ever let anybody borrow your baby, EVER!

My biggest disappointment with the Bronco is the MPG, they would be lucky to get 17 MPG with the version they were driving in this video, likely getting only 15MPG yet no mention of that factor. Considering Ford are releasing a Maverick with 40 MPG. I was hoping for something a little better at around the 20mpg for squatch and 25 with smaller AS/AT smaller tires, even an average MPG for the SUV or Truck class would have been fine. It's a shame Ford didn't think of a way to make the Bronco much lighter but still keep it's strength for off roading to increase the MPG for the smaller engine and for the inevitable hybrid/battery option that will likely come later.
