As an oldtimer, I'd prefer a n/a V8 for long-time use
@2pi6282 жыл бұрын
It's not just because you're an old timer. It's because a N/A V8 is superior. Especially where durability is a concern. Those high horse powered low displacement engines that they are putting in the Broncos are just one heat soak away from a blown head gasket, cracked heads, or worse. Everyone knows that heat kills, and with these engines Ford should have made the Raptor heat extraction hoods standard on all of them. Sadly the new Broncos will not be legacy vehicles like the old broncos. They are disposable. It won't be too long before we see the engines, trannies, and transfer cases ripped out and replaced with proven equipment. NP205's, Turbo 400's, and pushrod 5.0's with Holly EFI running the show.

@@heytherebato lol, if by one type, you mean every type, except low speed crawling. The 392 is pointless for anything but sounding cool and bragging that you have a v8. A Willys Sport model with the Xtreme Recon is a better rock crawler than the 392.

@@mechmat12345 and yet we are comparing it to the bronco, are you saying the bronco would do better rock crawling with the IFS? I think not. The jeep has a flat out better platform. My experience owning a 392 and now owning a bronco raptor, for me the decision was absolute comfort, both are extremely fun to drive, in regards to the size of the bronco I’m used to driving big vehicles 1 ton trucks modified jeeps with 40 inch tires and wider axles etc., Once you get a little bit of saddle time in the bronco raptor it does not feel big, for me the big difference is when I’m backing up on a tight trail the visibility is not as good as the jeep, other than that it comes down to your personal preference but if you want comfort I definitely recommend bronco raptor, you cannot beat the sound of the hemi and the fun factor but then again bronco raptor every time I see railroad tracks driving down the road I jump on it it’s so much fun to go fast over bumps and off roading is amazing, If your rock crawling definitely I feel the jeep is better but the bronco raptor is more than capable, for someone like myself who does more overland and towing a modified teardrop trailer bronco has been great but also the 392 was great.

TFLs location is interesting because naturally aspirated vehicles perform completely different where you are than were the rest of us live. :/ I can’t say the jeep would be appealing at high elevation without some hair dryers bolted on.

The Jeep had a rattle in the rear. Was it the camera? The width of the Bronco Raptor would be a deal breaker for me. The prices of both knock me out. Good video!!

sounded like an exhaust rattle to me.

Was hoping we’d see some sort of 4x4 comparison, driving up a flat graded dirt road tested nothingn at all, I’ll have to look around for an actual off-road comparison I guess.
