This was such a beautiful celebration of blackness. Everyone was there. This was a prestige gathering of black excellence, to celebrate all black art forms from literature, music, and cinema, to education, and television. Eartha Kit, Denzel & Whitney hosting!? @@Koloviv48i back in August I had a dream and GOD spoke about people with riches flaunting their riches on social media for others to see. That it was just a way to make their so called friends and enemies jealous and envious. And that they could share their riches with those who have less. And because those that do the flaunting want to stay connected to the neighborhood they come from they are seen visiting with their weath in tow. It is foolish they must come from amongst them and separated, because they were not meant to go to the places that they are meant to go. If you give them a job, then, then you do not pay enough. if you buy them a house then the house is not as big as yours. They don't drive the kind of car you drive, it will go on and on. You will never please a complainer, a leech, somebody who thinks they deserve the exact same thing as you, without working hard for it or working harder to keep it. GOD said procrastinator is a hoarder! If you procrastinate at home, you procrastinate in your vehicle, your personal relationships, your job. At home if you see something out of place pick it up, don't wait for somebody else to pick it up if you don't live alone. If procrastination has really turned into full blown hoarding. So, as not to get overwhelmed start with the 2 rooms we use the most bathroom and kitchen. If you don't live alone assign rooms or duties within a room and you will see how fast it cleans up. And this becomes a habit a clean house. There's alot more he told me but, its after 3 am on the east coast. And since GOD speaks to me alot I dreams and visions and lately it's been things for people I follow on social media and some I know. There are times when I get stranger's name and I DM them and I'm sure they think I'm crazy. Or I have to walk up to a stranger in a store and say something. And when I had to DM somebody on a reality show I don't watch and told them to apologize to several people who names I gave. Because she felt she deserved one as well, I told her that wasn't going to happen. And what if that was her last day on earth and the only thing keeping her out of HEAVEN was that apology how would you feel standing up as you are walked to the down elevator to hell because you thought I need mine first. I said your job for all eternity is to stand at the back door at the Southside of hell shoveling coal, so the fire does not go out. Can you imagine how hot you are going to be? How thirsty you will be? How your arms will ache from the shoveling? Can you imagine how stink you will smell? It's none of that in HEAVEN. I gotta go GOD gave me a list of people to contact and I contacted you. HE cares about you, I know HE saw your message and knows how you feel about HIM and where you prefer to spend eternity. Good Bye and Good Luck. She wrote back and said I'm going to apologize to the people on your list and can I you when I finish doing it. I said no need my job is done I was to give you the message and let you know the importance of it and I've done my job. Now you need to just communicate with ALMIGHTY GOD and you don't have to wait for a time to pray. Or when there is a need. Just talk to him like you would any friend, but without the cuss words. Tell'em Liz sent you and enjoy your life ❤

I was 35 years old in 1996 when this awards show aired and this show honored the best of the best in Black culture. It was great seeing Whitney and Denzel as the hosts. Their was no social media, the Internet was in it's infancy, their was more emphasis on quality and not quantity and more about us instead of me. The was no reality trash TV back in '96 as there is now of people fighting and beating up each other. I really miss the '90s.

I love these! And with the commercials, they are such a time capsule! The 90s was black entertainment at it's best. Black excellence. I don't know what happened since those days but we have taken so many steps back. Our movies suck, our singers look like tramps, our rappers have no depth, we're ripping each other apart on reality tv, our sitcoms are back to "blacksploitation" it's really sad. How did this happen?? We had good everthing in the 90s, we were finally getting the respect deserved the entertainment industry. It's so bad now and it grieves me to say this, but our only massive success currently has fallen into the lap of a Tyler Perry, that speaks volumes. I love him and proud of what he's accomplished, but why him? Tyler would have never got this big during that time because we were evolving, and becoming immune to quality. I watched Set It Off the other night, and STILL was on the edge of my seat today! What a spectacular, spellbinding movie! Our stories were beginning to be told through film on a much higher caliber with great quality. I miss it!
@Macabre124
@Macabre124 4 жыл бұрын
Perfectly, perfectly and perfectly written. Millions should read your comment. 90s was the glory era of black entertainment. I am speechless of what happened as well. We took massive leaps back. All these newer black movies are pure lame and just awful. All these singers are whorish in every aspect and cannot even sing or come close to like Mariah carey or Whitney the rappers have no depth, they sound like they're wailing in the raps and just completely cut from a different cloth. Sitcoms just incredibly insult the black population and causes massive divisiveness. And yes, of all people, why does Tyler has to be the face of massive black success although his style does resemble 90s but still. And yes, the older films like Set it off will def keep you on the edge. These films have a aura and style that cannot be replicate in this era. The 90s is a open and glued shut era.

@@ilovechristmas985 really? It has been proven and revealed that Whitney was a hood girl. In her heart, in her actions, activities and all. As an African growing up in Germany in the 90s we used to looove Black American culture. Music, Entertainment, mentality. We always used to root for Black Americans and Africans during the Olympics and award shows. It was a beautiful time. At that time it seems everyone was just proud and happy to be who they were. I had some Black Americans friends living in Germany for a short period and we had great connection talking about the motherland, Black American culture and there was a true sense of sister/brotherhood. I know that not all was perfect for everyone but people have become so very negative on both fronts, it’s sad😢. Thank you for uploading this. Whitney Houston was a very beautiful lady wow 😍😍😍😇❤❤❤❤❤❤💓good God she was a beauty to look at and, she wore those gowns perfect! Back when celebrities wore clothes... now it's just trashy trying to look fashionable. I only see miss Whitney Houston honestly; I couldn't take my eyes off her she was an Angel with the most adorable innocent eyes,,, gosh u gone too soon Whit... Gregory Hines could tap dance perfectly too he killed those moves lol... Whitney Houston was never afraid to manifest God almighty to the world. She was never ashamed of the gospel at all... thank you Whitney God bless her soul. Sleep on beloved Whitney, sleep and take your rest.

Whitney Houston beauty will have me staring at her all day. I always thought she was better than Aaliyah. People act like Aaliyah was the most beautiful girl in the world but she wasn’t. She had her chin and nose done. Whitney had no work done. Aaliyah couldn’t even sing good, but people act like she could just because she was pretty.

That's the first time I ever heard her aknowlege her acting debuted on 'Gimme A Break!', lol but she never mentions she auditioned and got the part of Sandra Huxtable, the Huxtable's eldest daughter. She later asked out, or didn't sign the contract once she realized how demanding it was, and that she wouldn't have the time to pursue her music career, which more important to her...Well obviously she made a right decision! ☺️
