Hey Anthony, good video buddy. I know of lots of LFR Camaro's up here with almost double that milage, yes the timing chains are a problem but i have not heard of many up here with well over 160k miles. The very early 3.6's had alot of problems in the SUV's, where there gen 5 Camaros didnt see some of those problems. Also everyone breaks when you don't do regular maintenance and extended oil changes. The direct injection as they age helps with the oil consumption and they dont like dirty oil. The good thing is, if you are mechanically inclined , you can change the timing chain in the garage as the whole front cover comes off with the accessories and rad removed and removing the 2 front oil pan bolts, the motor should not have to come out.

Thanks Mark! That’s true! If you mechanically inclined it could be done but most people not nowadays. Kudos to those guys who’s been running like a champ! Thanks for tuning in

It's crazy coincidental you put this out right after I rolled over 200k in my 5th gen V6. No real problems for me so far. Great video.

It seems that every automotive brand has issues. I think the only solution is to buy whatever you want, but make sure you trade it in within 2 years.

95k kms on my V6 (manual) no issues. But I do treat it reasonably.

Man you speaking of the V6s burning oil reminds me of the 2006 Grand Prix GXP I used to have. The mug would burn oil like crazy. I would he oil changes regularly, but i still would have to buy oil to keep it up to level.
@BLUPRINT1LEАй бұрын
Dam bro you took me back with the GXP but you’re actually right! It’s crazy these burn oil just like that just to do day to day stuff. I’m curious how the CT4 BW is engine wise since it’s the same architecture but slightly Better to handle the turbos

The timing chain one is a deal breaker for me, I actually wanted a V6 before watching this video lol Bluprint1LE coming through clutch once again!

LOL! I know you! If anything mechanical goes on you going to leave it in a heartbeat lol

Had a 2017 V6 Camaro A8, never had a problem with the engine in the 3 years of ownership, the only problem that came up was the transmission started shuddering at 30K miles, dealership did a flush and fixed the problem. It was an ok car, but glad that I sold it for my current LT1 M6.
@BLUPRINT1LEАй бұрын
Yeah the transmission is the worst across the whole platform!! You did right and upgraded! M6 For the Win! 🏆

What about the CT4-V Blackwing engine?
@BLUPRINT1LEАй бұрын
That engine is 3.6L true but it’s a LF4 motor. The engine I was talking about is the LFX motors. The architecture is the same as the naturally aspirated counterpart but they strengthen the block to handle boost they are providing to the engine with those turbos. If you noticed i mentioned only the ATS,CTS not V series because those engines are slightly different and that extra price tag confirms that

@BLUPRINT1LE Thanks for the insight. I'm new to this platform. I currently own a '23 Camaro 1LE and am thinking about buying the V.
@BLUPRINT1LEАй бұрын
Nice! The 1LE is a great car and best bang for buck! I am thinking about getting a V as well to have as a daily.
