Can early perimenopause start at 25 ? My periods were heavy since I started having them but became a bit heavier at 25 and then started to get closer together at late twenties/early thirties.I heard that these are symptoms of menopause. I am 39 now, had some hot flushes at 34, they subsided after a couple of months, came back again at 38, subsided after a couple of months and just came back. I knew that hot flushes are symptoms of late perimenopause.

I had my first hot flash at 36 and every time I brought it up to my doctor, they brushed me off and said I was too young. Then I started missing periods and they said "it could be PCOS". Now I'm 40, I went of BC to get pregnant, and no period, extreme hot flashes, and hormone levels in the postmenopausal range. I feel so angry and so cheated for missing out on my chance to have a baby because so many doctors think you have to be in your mid 40s for it to be perimenopause or straight up menopause.

I've had my hormones checked a few times and I thought that would tell me if I was approaching this stage of life- good to know that most everything I've been dealing with for years falls under the perimenopause umbrella. Acne has been driving me crazy for a while now I even joked that it sucks that I have it worse now then I did in puberty. Other then that I'd have appreciated just getting the heads up that my general anxiety disorder and clinical depression could get worse I thought I'd been failing at working my therapy instead of dealing with a new level and ever since a throw away comment this summer by one of my physical care team it has helped inform my mental therapist about struggles I'm having controlling my diagnoses.

Just came acorss your video. Very helpful! For about a year or so I have been wondering if I am in perimenopause. (I just turned 41). Changes in my period (flow), sleep/mood changes especially with PMS. I never dealt with cramps or mood swings and suddenly I do (have not been on birth control for over a decade) plus the ruminating on thoughts when trying to sleep which is not something I ever experienced but now I am frequently waking up at 4/5/6am with thoughts. Night sweats have started as well. I feel as though my "normal" day to day body temperature has increased as well. I used to run really cold and now some of my favourite cozy clothes are just too warm! Anyway, a long winded way of saying thankyou for the video. I will track things a bit more to bring to my doctor as HE rarely believes my symptoms.

I am one month shy of turning 50 as I look back I believe my first sign of perimenopause was vitamin D deficiency 4 years ago at age 46. Unbeknownst to me that was the beginning of this roller coaster ride of joint pain, heart palpitations, agitation, breast leakage, hot flashes, anxiety, crying spells, insomnia but I feel energized in the morning. I want off this ride of menopause because it’s not fun at all.

The palps are awful! I get PACs/PVCs, as well as a long grocery list of symptoms. I'm nearly 52 and still have my monthly, although I did skip a month a couple of times. I got excited thinking, is this FINALLY the end?! Nope. Aunt Flo can feck off already because I'm done with this shite. I've heard it doesn't get better until a FULL YEAR after meno! I want to find a surgeon who will rip everything out STAT. The symptoms are getting worse by the day. Wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy. Well, maybe I wish it a little bit on the male doctors who blow me off whenever I ask for hormones or anything to help (and they don't).

Could severe mood swings be perimenopause for me at 38? My cycles shortened to about 25 days for about a year now, but for the last month, I have had mood swings every day that are sometimes so severe that the only thing I feel like I can do is lock myself up I'm my room. I'm married with 5 children, so it's somewhat not an option, but it's better than treating everyone badly!

From my study of 1, I agree with your symptom list. My research subject also had insomnia and hair loss. Once a day Estradiol Gel and Progesterone was helpful but insomnia continued until switching to E & P topical dosing BID. It is my hypothesis that women are under served by traditional HRT dosing and frequency and route. This is also the hypothesis of many other clinicians. Just like many diabetics need an AM and PM dose of Metformin perhaps E & P deficient women need AM and PM dosing based on the half life of their HRT option.

Great content…. I am 49 and thought for sure I was in peri menopause because my periods were a bit heavier and starting to become a bit inconsistent but after an ultrasound it was determined I had a uterine polyp that needed to be removed. Now my periods are normal again. I would also encourage people to get an ultrasound done and not just assumed they are in perimenopause because some thing else could be going on. I heard you mention the Fibroids but not polyps. Should an ultrasound be done, at least once a year, as we approach peri menopause, to make sure nothing else is going on? Thank you so much and can’t wait to watch the rest of your videos.

I wish there was a good source of information about perimenopause for women who have never been on birth control and who are not using it during perimenopause. I just feel like there is something off about the information when it's taking into account women whose hormones have been or still are being somewhat artificially manipulated. It's disingenuous to act like it's the same.

Please help!!! My doctor told me i was in perimenopause last year then said i wasnt after lab results now this year shes saying im in perimenopause again, but really basing it on bad memory of what we talked about last year and lab results again. I only had hot flashes for a couple of weeks once last year and once this year.. along with that i have had multiple positive pregnancy test. I had been tracking my lh and bbt on the premom app, i was ovulating perfectly and bbt would spike after ovulation all the time... my mom didn't get menopause until she was 62, shes 63 now, i cant imagine getting menopause around the same time as my mom.. i just turned 44. I haven't had a period for 2 months but had faint positive pregnancy test during this time. Doctor says not pregnant but never did tell me why i keep getting positive test after ovulation a number of times. Does perimenopause cause false positive pregnancy test? Also i have cyst in my ovary, just discovered, can that cause false perimenopause symptoms? Or false positive on pregnancy test? Also can vitex and progesterone cream mess up cycle? After taking vitex my cycle went crazy, I stopped taking it but 3 months later, cycle is still not normal. Wondering if its causing false perimenopause symptoms? But despite some teat and doctor just carelessly using the word perimenopause, i just dont feel like i am actually in perimenopause yet.

My periods have become irregular over the past year, skipping a month altogether (has happened multiple times now) or having two with only a week off in between. (Should be mentioned my dr switched me to the BC mini-pill a little less than a year ago). I started experiencing significant hair loss a couple years ago, and over the past year I've been having hot flashes that are becoming more and more frequent. Does this sound like I'm in perimenopause or is this just because of my BC?

Age 38 my cycle began to get shorter in length (from 28 to every 23,24,25 days), then hair thinning and low libido. Age 39 hot flashes, night sweats. Do you think that means I will have menopause by age 46?? I'm suffering I can't wait to see my obgyn.

I had my first period when I was 10. I’m 43 now. Period like clockwork (21 days) but now it’s more like “nah, I’m coming after 40 days and next time after just 15 days and then regular for like 3 months and then back to panic with 30 days!” Is that a sign?

You mention that if you've had an ablation that you can't use your period to determine if you are in Peri-menopaus ... I was wondering why you believe this? Is this because you assume that if you've had an ablation that you won't have a period? Or is there another reason? I've had an ablation but continued to have my period. My period was easier to deal with (lighter) and I didn't feel like I should go to the hospital every month due to blood loss but I did continue to have a 'normal' period every month. Well, that was until recently when my period started getting heavier and sporadic. For Info: I'm 52 yrs old

I'm 43 and started having a wide range of symptoms but the anxiety is the most horrible, i had bloodwork done and my progesterone was in the post menopausal range and estrogen high so I am still dealing with symptoms and taking supplements which help but once I get my period (which are still regular) I am in a low mood, panic attacks, and it's just so debilitating. I know I'm not alone but I definitely need some help.

Please help!!! I am turning 44 next month February- and for the last 1 year i have irregular cycles. I would go almost 3 months without a period. I have palpitations and anxiety at times. I did go see my obgyn, he was did labs and a vaginal sonogram. I had a grape size cyst on my left ovary and had a redo sono 6 weeks later which showed it went away. My labs were all normal including thyroid and A1C. This month i got my period and then again 4 days later. With health anxiety, these symptoms really scare me. Is discharge a symptom as well?

I’m 47 and definitely in perimenopause. My periods went very haywire a few years ago . I was missing them for months. Then they went very heavy. I have had a scan which showed a fibroid. Waiting to see a gynaecologist. My moods are all over the place. I’m definitely not as easy going as I once was lol. I get hot flashes and palpitations. My pelvic floor isn’t as good as it once was. Need the toilet more. My eyes are also really dry. My last eye exam didn’t show any issues. I have started on her. Patches and utrogestan. Think I need an increase though.

So I have a Mirena iud since April 2017 and I thought my period changes were due to it, my cycles got shorter with me starting to bleed in day 22 or 23 , it’s very light but it’s like a minor trickle for 6 days. Prior to this it was pretty much a very regular 28 day / 5 days of period cycle. I’ve also been dealing with gastritis since 2022 and insomnia at times. I can’t tell if this is from my GI issues or hormonal changes.

Can I be in perimenopause at 38? I had my second baby 21 months ago and breast fed her for 16 months. I don’t feel like myself at all and I have a ton of symptoms. Mainly my very on-time period has been coming earlier and earlier to the point that I don’t know when it’s coming. This has been happening for about 3 months. Hot flashes, insomnia, appetite changes, heavier bleeding, way more cramping and pain and mainly a huge mood disturbance a week before and during my period. My doctor said I may just have to deal with it for now. Bc I don’t want birth control. I haven’t had birth control since I was 25 years old
