Dr Hirsh. Just a couple of points from a clinical nutrition perspective. Vitamin D is fat soluble And should be taken with meals specifically some thing with fats like olive oil. Magnesium oxide is not well metabolized. Better to refer people to magnesium bisglycinate.

Thank you for your information. Just FYI vitamin D3 has to be taken with vitamin K2. Magnesium oxide is less bioavailable. Magnesium oriotate penetrates the blood brain barrier so those who have migraines would benefit. Hope this helps. Also, vitamin B6 can cause a neuronopathy so be careful on the dosage. If you have diabetic neuropathy, a preparation such as Benfotiamine can help to a small degree in preventing progressive diabetic poly neuropathy.

I was told by my Doctor a midlife coach who helped me to send my Hashimoto’s on remission. Never take calcium alone because it may cause gallbladdeor kidney calculus (stones). She recommended me to take VIT D3 with MK7 + K2 (to increase absorption)I am so greatful because my VIT D went up so fast. Careful with magnesium citrate it may cause lose stools and diarrhea. Magnesium Glycinate worked so well for me.

I know you said you do not take any supplements but if I could recommend just one that I really think would help you a lot is Bioastin Astaxanthin12 mg. I've tried other brands that were cheaper but did not work nearly as good as this one.You only have to take One A Day with a meal and your body and joints will feel so much better. Just go on Costco and check out the reviews you will be very very surprised it what a great supplement this is. I've been taking it for years I am not one who takes prescription medications or many supplements I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and refused to take the medication and doing intermittent fasting and this supplement has helped dramatically. I also take 5000 IU of vitamin D3.

What a good question. DHEA that you can take over the counter is relatively safe. It alone will NOT rise your testosterone levels into a danger zone - so you should be A-okay there! Thanks for the question and comment pink lady :)

Most of us do need fish oils for the beneficial EPA and DHA content. For neurotransmission between the brain and the organs and extremities. The phospholipid content is very important and should never be discounted. Honestly, this video lacked many basic nutritive advice. Whether a woman is perimenopausal, menopausal, post menopausal, there was so much discussion not covered here. I know this was just a "basic" and general talk, but it was toooo general. Hello... I'm taking B12 now. How long did it take for your symptoms listed to ease or stop.

@@jademichaels5553 the best is to get the B12 in injections, the pills do nothing for me, they died in my stomach or something, but I get my B12 injections biweekly but you can get them weekly if you want , they are a life saver for sure.

I’m not a fan of taking different supplements. I’m currently taking the One-a-Day Women’s multivitamin, AREDS for my vision (has an issue with my retina a few years ago), and the Garden of Life Probiotics.

Magnesium oxide is the worst one. Glycinate is better. Especially at night.

Thanks for the info doc. I'm really struggling with my menopause. I had an emergency complete hysterectomy due bleeding to much about 5 months ago and I refused to take any prescription estrogen instead I'm taking phyto estrogen plus Efas vitamin but somehow I'm still getting almost all of the menopausal symptoms, the worst part is the migraine. Would love your to hear your feed back.
