I recently read this book and I am here to tell all of you that this book includes A LOT of helpful information for everyone. Except, it's PRIMARILY focused on employees who typically work in an office environment. Therefore, if you work on a trade say as an auto mechanic, electrician, plumber, landscaper etc., the majority of the solutions provided in this book will be impossible for you to do. The jobs I mentioned physically require you to be there & this book concentrates on automation which means having tasks being taken care of without requiring your presence. Either somebody else does it or... believe it or not, it does itself. (The brilliance of this book.) Now, I will say this though. It's not entirely all about work! There's plenty of philosophy & life advice that will change your perspective on retirement. Seriously, you'll be glad you read it. Conclusion: Read this book regardless of your occupation. It's worth the time & attention!

This is great and all however My concern is this. Once you start doing all that and make less workload for yourself, bosses also start dumping more workload on you because they will think you can handle more since you’re doing great on the current workload. This will be a vicious cycle, how to deal with this? Another thing, what if you work in a startup and don’t have a lot employees, then you don’t have a lot to delegate and also you can’t outsource since it will be considered revealing confidential documents. I’m interested to get some thoughts on this

The last step with the "employee" makes it sound like every employee can do that work from home thing. But is terrible wrong and the assumption is borderline offensive. What about doctors or bus drivers?! How they can work from home? What about plane pilots or flight operator?! What about builders, or construction workers?! So many jobs that are laughing tonyour face if you explain them "the plan"
@hiupanddown Жыл бұрын
Doctors are can be contractors.
@teemu3636 Жыл бұрын
Well, of course you need to use your thinking on "How could I apply this plan to my career?" or "Is it possible to apply this in my career at all?". If it's not, you have to think about "What should I start doing in order to make this happen, career switch for example" this is if you truly want this.

Don’t chase a doctor degree if you care about money. That’s what my teacher told me before I quit college
@JoeSgfw Жыл бұрын
Doctors are not employees in the traditional sense they are pledged to sacrifice their own wellbeing for the sake of others like the sin eater. A bus driver is a temporary job, nobody should have a career in bus driving it should be done as a way to build up capital when your at rock bottom
@seanmurray805110 ай бұрын
Obviously this principle doesn't apply to every profession. We will always need people who physically do stuff. There will always be people who prefer that type of work environment. The 4 hour work week is a good system for many though. Especially the self employed.
