there's no way you can do 15-25 reps with a thicker band. People really underrate bands and their effectiveness as a stand along tool. Higher reps for lighter bands but low reps with the thicker bands. trust me they are effective

thinking about buying some. are they actually effective for breaking down muscle?
@proudmisfit44052 жыл бұрын
@@cruz.c they sure are. if you maintain the same muscle building principles like time under tension, you definitely can. check out both james grage and khp fitness. as someone who has been in the weight room, leaving it was the best decision ever. make sure you buy loop style bands not tube and have 5 different levels of resistance from x light to x heavy. companies like undersun and tomshoo are who I can recommend.

Thank you! Question: Other than these being more accessible to do at home, for what reasons should you choose these alternatives over their barbell/dumbbell counterparts? For example, why and when to do the banded row at 3:43 instead of a barbell row or cable row?

i have been diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse with mild regurgitation. my doctor asked me to stop with my weight training cause it might worsen the regurgitation. i don’t want to completely ditch resistance training and would like to maintain my muscle mass. will using resistance band help me maintain and add more definition to my muscle? thank you very much.
@supimsatan2 жыл бұрын
It will maintain muscle for sure, and if you get stronger on it and eat well, you will build muscle.

Sal, Great information as always. I have a question about bands in general. I am waiting for a scheduled doctors appointment to see if I have an inguinal hernia. From the looks of it and all I could find I am fully expecting it to be the case. Until that appointment I have put my lifting on hold to avoid further injury. If I do find out that I have this issue and need surgery would band training and eating at maintenance be enough to minimize loss over the recovery period? It is a little depressing to think that I will slide backward after working so hard for what I have. Thanks and take care!

Very often, those youtube band exercises involve rubbing rubber on the skin which I don't think anyone would do that for more than a few reps in a youtube video...
