Happy to hear that most of these foods (mushrooms, dark bitter greens, root vegetables, ochra) are very common everyday foods in Asia. We grew up eating these on a daily basis, thinking that we were deprived because we couldn't afford to eat meat and cheese.

It is highly appreciated that you listed out the 5 vegetables for good health. While discussing the cruciferous group of vegetables, you said that overload of cruciferous vegetable causes Thyroid suppression. But you did not say how much is more. Please specify the quantity in grams of uncooked form one must take daily. That would be useful, otherwise it looks ambiguous. . You have not included bitter gourd in the group of bitter dark green vegetables. please clear , why? I am from a distant corner of world and your podcasts are amazing and very helpful. Thanks. May anyone else also clear the point.

Just common sense. Depending on amounts, you could eat a little every day, or a decent portion several times a week. No set amounts here.

Koreans don't eat gourds. Since the past, the plant has been considered not to eat. The main ingredient of kimchi is cross fig vegetables. No matter how much you eat, cross-fig vegetables do not adversely affect your body. We've eaten it for thousands of years and verified it.

Met a lady who was also in line for a Chinese Food pick up. I told her I talked the cook into just Woking my veggies with almost no oil, no salt or other seasonings (broccoli, onions, cabbage, mushrooms, cauliflower, etc.) since I hate to cook. She suggested I try MUSTARD on the broccoli. I did and it's fantastic. Zero calories and gives the veggies the zip they need.

I would like to know more, if it is possible a link to the reference, regarding the chopping of cruciferous. That if you do not chop the cruciferous before cooking, the myrosinase will not be released.
@ewolnai2 жыл бұрын
This glucosinolate-myrosinase defence system is stored via compartmentalisation, that is to say, they are inert and stored adjacent to one another but in separate cells. This means that when the plant experiences tissue damage and these cells break down, they release their contents so the glucosinolate and myrosinase come into contact with each other to activate the defence system, deterring insect predators (Bones & Rossiter, 1996, Andréasson et al., 2001; Sulforaphane glucosinolate. Monograph, 2010)

@Shiv19715 ай бұрын
You need oxalates a couple of times a week to remove carcinogens (cancer causing agents). Perhaps taking some organic lime or lemon juice (a cup's worth - ideally with the skin also juiced and consumed). I would do this on an empty stomach and then not eat for 8 hours - after which taking a multivitamin/mineral pill (ideally liposomal) with your next meal will replenish some of the mineral losses. All veggies should be organic. This protocol could be done twice a week.

You didn't say okra also has lectins and lectins can help protect cells from.damage. Cooking foods thar contain lectins break down the lectin. A lectin free diet is not typically recommended by dietitians. You seem to be agianst beans ( legumes) but they are part of a healthy diet around the world.
