@peterheck24296 жыл бұрын
Krabby Kat hey i share your opinion i didn't say origins was perfect, just not as bad as it could've been. The thing with unity and synd was that sometimes the world felt lifeless and suffocating, but origins had way better open world which was decent in size too. I just suspect if they at least improved a little bit it'll improve a bit more in the next game. Although i was hoping it wouldn't require the sacrifice of the game's lore, of which we've been following for over a decade.

I hope they stick with this current formula for at least one or two sequels. Maybe that allows them to release a new one every 2 or 3 years. After GoW3 there was some kind of fatigue and the reception of Ascension showed that. But now I don't see fatigue, quite the opposite. People want more.
@HadesHatredEdge6 жыл бұрын
I liked the improvement to combat that came with Ascension. The ability to use the blades to grapple and enemy, use enemy weapons, and bare handed combat. Problem was that when Kratos had weapons that were not temporary they lacked the dept of the Blades of Chaos. Or in the case of GoW3, too many weapons with chains. GoW needed a different weapon that was well developed and fun to play as.

This game is phenomenal, I adore story driven games and the story in this was so personal and beautifully written and acted. The natural transition from a father who could not even touch his son to comfort, to a father who in the end, could place a hand on their back with no awkwardness, was just gorgeous. I loved the themes of honesty and communication which aided in this transition - you see Krato’s becoming comfortable with his vulnerability and more accepting of it because he knows he needs to in order to be a good father. Ugh, i need to do a second playthrough immediately :-)

Well, Witcher 3 is an exceptional game in its own right. But I am not sure if it tops the production quality and the story of God of War. For me, God of War went a step beyond in its story-telling and traditional game progression loop. Every little detail - from lore stories of Mimir to weapon or skill upgrade or obtaining that 'other' weapon - mattered and fitted well within the overall narrative of the game. I am not trying to belittle the greatness of Witcher 3 but rather trying to say that God of War was a 'complete' masterpiece. Besides we are all so lucky to be alive and experience both exceptional games.
@mohamedabdelfatah72976 жыл бұрын
No , What made Norse mythology less interesting to me in the new god of war was the way it was presented . There was no chance in hell that god of war would be able to compete with something as grandoise as the witcher 3 . Don't forget that witcher 3 is a fully fledged rpg while god of war is still merely an action game with rpg elements thrown in . What disappointed me the most was how they chose to present the lore through these small unreadble text , when in reality nothing ever interesting happens . Mimir stories on the boat were also extremely boring , and in general there is not enough world building in the game tbh . You can't keep feeding us lore merely through text and expect us to be excited about it .
@meninzera6 жыл бұрын
mohamed abdelfatah so they should add alchemy and 300 cutscenes, then the game would be closer to witcher 3. wow dude, wtf? I hate those hundreds of cutscenes. Also witcher 3 combat is a fucking joke. Im so glad they are nothing like each other.

Natan Alves Whitcher indeed achieved greatness in many areas, but the combat was meh. I forced myself to continue playing up to the first battle with the wild hunts. God of War & Horizon excelled in areas including combat. And for that both are better games than The witcher. You may argue that you like the witcher combat, but you cannot deny that GOW has a way better and much more fun combat.

crazy how much all these people that work on games like this have to go thru for us to play the games they make. i’m so grateful of this game. it has become one of my all time favorite games and i’m currently going thru my second run of it and it’s as amazing as the first time.

You know game developers are passionate when an 8/10 on Metacritic is “not reviewed well” and resulted in a “pretty difficult time” for them. Any outstanding artist strives for perfection, and is never satisfied with their work.

This is the first god of war I ever played, after always being on Facebook because I have nothing else better to do, I would see little 3 min videos of gameplay or cut scenes for the game, and after seeing so many I woke up one morning and went and finally bought a PS4 pro and a 4K tv, and I’ll tell you what it was a decision I do not regret, very happy I made a switch from Xbox to PS4, this game could make any person switch, hands down the best game I have ever played in my life

It's amazing. It starts fresh, instead of going for some sort of revenge, this god of war aims for a character with a simple, yet even if not to the player, significant objective to the characters: merely a father and son wishing to spread the ashes of someone they respected. Throughout this journey with a simple objective, both characters undergo significant development, and most of all kratos also shows the mental change he has undergone from all he lived in greece. It's so hard to find anything below "good" in this game. Only thing I was dissapointed of is not knowing the mother, which makes us feel more exterior of this journey, and I don't really like that side, seeing how it tried putting us in the action by showing him cutting the tree, but then gives us no idea who she was until later on, giving us merely a partial idea of this person our characters look up to so much as to go through that many things.

First off, Ascension is fkn dope. Don't knock it if you haven't played it. It's a beautiful game. Secondly, if you say that God of War needs to go back to "the way it used to be", you're basically screaming at the top of your lungs that you haven't matured one bit in an entire decade. Do what I did. I bought a PS3 and a PSP so I have all the games. If you want the old games, play the old games but why knock such a beautiful fresh and growing take on such a beloved franchise?
