Hello, Stephan. Can you please bless us with a video expressing your views on a man who says he's formerly bisexual? If he has not been active with a man in over 3 years would it be wise to take a chance on such a man? I love getting your perspective on dating topics because it's always in such sharp contrast to my own views, causing me delves in deeper and not rush to judgement. I would really appreciate your thoughts on this issue. Thanks

I have been married for over 25 years. I can tell you that the inability to set boundaries with your family can be detrimental to a marriage. My mother was resentful of my wife. I had to choose between my wife and my mother. It was a stressful situation but I made the right choice. I have seen a lot of guys allow their mothers to destroy their relationship with their wives. We should respect our mothers but that doesn't give them right to ruin our lives. Sometimes parents are trying to project their dysfunction on your relationship. The man's mother may be jealous of her son's wife because he treats her better than she was ever treated . She doesn't think that her daughter in law should be treated like a queen when she never was. Men must separate completely from their family of origin in order to be successful in their marriages.

@LoveAndSnapple3 жыл бұрын
@@adelinedb5606 Don’t worry Sis, I’m still learning too. The problem is you made yourself exclusive to him when he is not ready for you. Downgrade your relationship to “just dating” so you don’t lose anything from this interaction. It’s much easier for women to become emotional and fall into this trap because, “it can’t hurt to wait a little while longer, right?”. “It can’t hurt to be his support when he needs a shoulder, right?” Wrong. You are a woman and you are born to receive. You are not meant to “wait”, you are meant to be waited ON. A White woman that actually cares about me (and got married before me) said, “you’re going to have to get a little mean.” We’re not out here to hurt people’s feelings and destroy them, but it’s like wearing a shoe a size too small. You can tell yourself that it’s not that bad, but the hurt WILL come eventually. The worse thing you can ever do is tie yourself down to someone when someone ELSE could be waiting to treat you right, right NOW. Cheerleaders are cheerleaders from the sidelines and Wives sit courtside. She can still cheer, but she doesn’t have to do all that “rah, rah, rah” that cheerleaders do. Marriage magnifies the red flags in dating. So if you’re his cheerleader in dating, you’ll practically be his life coach in marriage.

I dated a man who was a long distance truck driver. He had no apartment or home and stayed with me when he was "home". We spoke about marriage, discussed expectations, looked at rings (his idea). The topic of finances made him agitated, which was a huge red flag. He did not want to talk about income, credit, taxes, or savings. I had a large home which I loved and worked hard to get and maintain. I couldn't allow him to stay with me anymore. I knew it wasn't right. I felt like I was boarding him. I ended the relationship completely when I asked if he was prepared to purchase us a home if we got married and he said no, then he asked why couldn't we just live in my house. I knew he wasn't marriage material for me early on but ignored my own standards. Big mistake!

His idea of a ring was a red flag too. Guys offers a ring to keep a woman the way he want her. Which is never nothing real and serious but only to board him and supply him. The ring is just an illusion to have her think that she got a man. And you did the right thing to let him go.

I won't be involved with another otr truck driver again. He didn't have a home either so likes to live off of women. Found out after a 20 plus yr so called marriage that he had lots of women on the side. That lifestyle makes it too easy for them to cheat. Nope, no more.

What makes it worse is when that same initial party places all accountability and blame on the second party even after they have apologized profusely and have changed their ways for the better. I am not sure I agree. I married (first and only) at 47 and he was 54. It was bait and switch. He treated me so well while we were dating but within 3 months of marriage it was clear it wouldn't last. 3.5 years. People that marry older have more ingrained habits that they may be blind to and less flexible. Maturity is a must regardless of age.

I grew up around these type of men who cheat, beat up their wife, verbally abused children and wives, had kids outside their marriage. What I saw and was taught is that God unified them, so the women, had to put up with those abuses and pray about it for the rest of their lives. As a product of these dysfunctionalities, I took a different stance. The adults never take responsibilities for the damages they caused, so it is my job to take responsibility for my life and the type of man I allow in my life and around my children.

About point # 2: It's not all about how much you make, it's about how much you keep and how you're able to make that money multiply via different assets. 99% of ppl are bad with money because they are financially illiterate. YOU literally have to SEEK the knowledge to become financially literate - it's not taught in school (and that's for a reason too). Most professional athletes go BANKRUPT within 5 years of retirement. Actors, rappers and singers run into financial problems all the time because they don't know how to handle their money while they have a career in entertainment. They don't usually plan for when their career is over or they gradually lose relevance if they are in music. Lottery winners are another example of ppl who were never financially literate, suddenly got a massive amount of money - then they are broke within 5 - 10 years. Also, higher income earners tend to get caught in "keeping up with the Joneses" and also, the more they make, they more they spend.

This is huge Bcuz lust can really cloud their judgment, sear their conscience, hinder their spiritual growth, cause them to resent u sexually, cause them to resent u spiritually, and possibly lead to infidelity!! And if you are dating a Godly man, evaluate whether or not he is actively working on his spiritual development Bcuz that will be a key factor in determining if he is actively fighting against sin or if he has surrendered over to some stronghold or lustful sin pattern!!

All that about communication 💔It breaks my heart when all you wanted was to effectively talk but it doesn’t work if the other won’t communicate. Still healing but finding myself and growing. I’m no longer afraid to being alone. If someone isn’t happy with themselves, you cannot make them happy or reciprocate love. It hurts to “let go” when it’s been 5 years of loving someone unconditionally, flaws and all but without communication it will never work. It's refreshing to hear that there are high valued men out there that don't think cheating is okay. There are other content creators filling men's head with "facts" that men will cheat as much as their options allow and that if a woman wants to be with them, they just have to accept it cuz men can have sex wihtout emotions... and if they're with a high valued man and they think the guy is not sleeping with other women, it's just cuz he doesn't tell you cuz he is! It's heartbreaking.

The fact that someone who lies and cheats would even be referred to as a high value man is ludicrous. Call these men high income men. Does a man have to be wealthy to be valued by his children. What makes me valuable to my children is that I love them unconditionally. My relationship with them would be ruined if I cheated on their mother. The faithful husbands out here don’t have KZbin channels . We are keeping our heads down and working hard to build our lives and careers .

Yes Stephan there are people who are content and will not change no matter what you say. That's how they are wired. My ex actually said to me "he is holding me back". I realise I was not accepting him for being him and the fact that he is telling me he is not going to try or willing to change or compromise to meet my needs. I could not talk to him affectively. Stephan you're quite right, I should have kept it moving from day one when I realised his way of communicating was by being humorous and he could not hold a serious conversation with me or with anyone else and he was a liar and I had no peace or trust in him. Great Video Stephan.

Often times while we are in love and deep in the relationship we lose sight lots of things putting on the blinders to many issues. Love your partner but always remain present and conscious to people’s actions etc

Yes, I’m living proof that promises before marriage that his addictive behaviors would get better- only got worse. 27 years later (alot of sadness/depression/rejection/no retirement savings) and our situation only got worse-sadly ending in divorce. Men rarely change. It’s challenging enough to change our own selves.

I’m so glad you spoke in communication especially. I was with someone who told me communication was wrong and i should change my ways. After communicating the things i wanted in a relationship, asking him exactly what he was looking for. Later on tried to convince me we already talk through foot rubs, and him meditating by himself. I broke things off shortly after, and never regretted it.

Both have to give 👍🏻. I do believe men give all upfront and become relaxed …. On into marriage and women keep on trying hard as to their nature. It’s a constant effort. So you hit 3 massive points as a married women 24-41 divorced for 3. Complacently - Selfishness - Criticism, Communication and Emotional Abuse HUGE …….BOTH PEOPLE NEED TO SPEAK FROM 🧡. Thank you Stephen your work and effort to help people and relationships is not unnoticed here in Texas!

Another great video. I would love for you to unpack boundaries more. How do women set healthy boundaries? What are healthy boundaries for men and women? It is a 2 way street, and I would like to hear your thoughts around this topic. Thanks for keeping me in a reflective and thoughtful state about any future relationships I might have!

And complacency isn’t just in life or finances …. It reflects in a person’s character… it’s okay to want to change but take your time but not wanting to change or evolve what so ever under any circumstances-🤷🏼♀️is an issue ❕

I agree, marriage is such a big step, it should not be taken lightly, it’s supposed to last a lifetime. Lol I know some people go into it for the wrong reasons, and they’re shocked when it doesn’t work out. Make sure you work on yourself first before you make that big decision… that way you’re able to deal with the ups and downs of being married - because it will come, and you’ll be ready! Anyway, that’s my two cents. -Carlos Verde - Dating Tips

So much truth in this video. Often when these signs of incompatibility are overlooked in the dating stage, these same issues end the marriage. Too many men and women are caught up with having a wedding and not a marriage. Everyone contemplating marriage should do an audit of the relationship, and seek professional counseling from a Pastor or Relationahip/Life coach, it will save you a lot of heartache and money too.

This came right on time one of friends told me her little sister was struggling in her new marriage and when she described to me her little sister husband he acted exactly the same type of habits and character my ex had ....meaning I could have been in the position of her little sister marrying him. P.S He had 8/9 of these
