I think the minions' heights are very exaggerated. Especially considering that normal people in that universe appear 3/4 to 4/5 the height of Gru. He's still a massive absolute unit, but normal people tend to reach his shoulder or chest. So either the minions are considerably shorter, the measurement system of that universe is very skewed, or 10 ft is the norm.

So one small problem: Minions seem to generally come in two sizes. There's the short minion you used to measure Gru, and the slightly taller one that seems a bit less common. If the "average minion" is 3.5 ft, then this is somewhere in between the short and tall minion, which means the short minion used to measure Gru is slightly less than 3.5 feet.

Actually, he’s only three minions tall, and they’re shorter ones. Which likely puts him between 6 and 7 feet tall (I’d estimate the minions are around 2 feet tall). His slouched posture barely affects it. So, he’s tall, but not massive. Which fits with the heights of everyone else. Given the standard height of floors as designated by code, his house is around 30-35 feet tall, or 3 stories. (Based on his neighbor’s 2 story homes.)
