If you do this 9 out of 10 times your going to have a problem at the boat ramp. In todays Chit Show we prove the Alfred theory .Its hard to watch but yet very funny.

They do that because they're frightened and they know the guy driving the boat doesn't know what the hell he's doing. It amazes me how these people come into dock no dedicated bow and stern line 10 foot is plenty no preparation for docking they just aim for it and hope for the best. So they get to the dock and somebody hauls out this tangled mess of what looks like a ski rope and they tried to tie the boat up with 70 feet of tangled mess. Is there no place in Florida where these people boat that offers training in boat handling?

I’ve never been at these ramps but I don’t understand why this has to be so hard and time consuming. My wife drops me off at the dock then moves away while I get the truck snd trailer. I come back and she drives it on the trailer. I latch it and drag it up the ramp. Ramp time is 45 seconds max. This docking the boat and blocking the ramp would make me crazy. This is some of the most selfish ramp etiquette witnessed.

Exactly! If these people were on a boat ramp in SC they would get schooled in boat ramp etiquette real fast!!! You stage your boat before ever approaching the ramp. When your day is over you don’t tie up and goof off and wander off to your vehicle. You drop off truck driver and get in line to load. Boop! On the trailer and pull into area to secure everything.

Al you are right. Last summer I had to be towed because of a scupper hose that broke ,we where on an Island swimming the back of the boat was up-to the carburetor and the pump killed the battery. Boatusa was great this year I am going premium just in case.

Great channel! I see all kinds of stupidity at my local ramp as well but never thought to stick around and make a film on it. May be in my future :) Ramp is at the end of my street. Launch a pair of wave runners daily and its always 3 minutes in and 5 minutes out.

as someone who spent a lot of time fishing, if your rod does not cast, that means your line is tangled and you have to pull it off your reel and then reel it in slowly so it sets up properly, also like you mentioned, you need weight on the line and actually know what you are doing.

The first guy actually got to the dock ( sloppy but got there) and one of his passengers was holding on to the pier. He punches the throttle when there was no reason to even be in gear... Good lesson here as he could have crushed someone and pitched out another...

@@keithscudder7136 I don’t claim to be the best skipper but my 27’ Chap which I’ve had for 4 years has virtually no scratches on it. I live by the rule ‘ never approach a dock any faster than your willing to hit it’ . The other simple rule is be prepared to dock! My bride gets the lines and fenders in place and we observe the wind/current and in we go. I’ve had to back out and start over many times but never damaging my boat. And I know it can turn bad fast no matter how prepared you are!

That boat your friend restored lists badly to whatever side on which a single person is standing. I've been in jon boats that were more stable than that beast. That looks like an extremely unstable hull that should not have been restored the way that it was. Would not surprise me if he removed quite a bit of weight from inside that hull, thereby reducing ballast and stability. Be careful on that boat.

To throw in a wrench, we have 3 currents at these Docks, Tide coming in, Tide going out and when they open the Flood Gates after every major rainfall in Cutler bay. The Flood Gates cause a 10 Knot current at times, while the tidal currents are between 6 to 7 knots. :(
