Spider-Man Unlimited is arguably the weirdest Spider-Man adaptation of all time. Arguably. Written as a loose follow up to Spider-Man The Animated Series of the 90s, and I do mean LOOSE, this series took an entirely different approach to telling a Spidey story. I would argue that this show nearly feels like it was written as an entirely different story with its own characters and lore, and THEN they decided to drop Spidey and a few recognizable Spidey characters into the mix. Now there’s no evidence that this is what they did, but it does FEEL like it. But that isn’t necessarily a criticism, either, because while it is absolutely an anomaly in the long list of Spider-Man animated series, it has a ton of charm and some really interesting characters. PLUS we’re about to see this version of Spidey again in the upcoming Across the Spider-Verse film! Wild times! So join me as we dive deep into the absurdity of Spider-Man: Unlimited
