If you read other articles further (and now removed videos and news), they spent not only a lot on reshoots and over-production (e.g. they were making sets, costumes and props for Season 2, the season 2 that just got cancelled), they also overspent on every aspect of production. Let me give you just ONE example:- The "Power of Many" vocals and soundtrack (yes there is song released for it) involved talent flown in from multiple countries around the world, because Leslye insisted on a 'more inclusive' (racially and country-wise) choir in order to produce the music. Compare this to just sourcing the same vocals from locally or the outer limits of the USA or Canada (including the cost of housing, flying and paying these foreign country singers and musicians). NOW apply this same DEI approach to EVERY aspect of a tv shows production, and now you can see how a show that should only cost 30-50 million for 8 episodes, cost $180-200 million instead...

I am not welcome in various places because I believe people have a right to exist. Star wars isn't just dismantling a set piece. They are dismantling the idea of blind inclusiveness. You won't see anyone bat an eye at literal aliens in the same room. You will hear mention if you poke around at interviews that the lack of a black cast character in the Original Star Wars movie was more an oversight, than intention - and the follow up film got one hell of a cool rectification. Star Wars has ALWAYS been about Diversity. But now, Star Wars is about Forced Diversity, at the expense of literally everything else. The modern day is about building wedges, and categorizing people - not just letting them exist, and be. They aren't creating diversification for a global Audience, they are creating "diversity" for their ideal audience. It just turns out, that isn't exactly... profitable.

The thing with Book of Boba Fett and Kenobi is that both were terrible but didn't say much about the universe so people were just shrugging and moving on, waiting for the next jackpot like Andor was. The Acolyte isn't the same, some people are deeming it bad and moving on but a lot are furious, because this changes quite a lot. This feels like a deliberate attempt at changing the canon, at taking over the control of what's at play in the grand scheme of Star Wars. Fans feel attacked. Disney would have had less issues on its plate spending the 180 millions and not broadcasting the show in the end. So yeah, I get why they would backtrack on all fronts...

Honestly boba fett and kenobi weren’t bad atleast I didn’t think so I enjoyed them andor was really well done aswell. Disney has done well with some stuff aside from series aswell I really liked solo aswell as rouge one but the final trilogy they put out is equally as bad as acolyte. They also did justice with the seventh season of clone wars and did justice with the expansion of bad batch. But did horrible with things like rebels
