Spawned my agar to grain 9 days ago and they're colonizing FAST! Was already about 25% at day 7 so I gave them a very good shake and now a couple days after the shake I have mycelium growing from all over the grains. I didn't even do any transfers, but I did have lots of rhyzomorphic growth straight from the start. Went from MSS to agar. And I had almost gave up after two failed attempts at putting MSS straight to grain. Agar is the way to go! I have more on the way and will be doing transfers next, can't wait. I'm hooked on this hobby now!! Thank you so much for your videos! If it wasn't for you, home mycology and willymyco I wouldn't have given this hobby a try! Yall three are my top three channels for mycology info!

So you unscrew the jars a tad & leave them; with temperature controlled space? Thanks, this will be my first attempt and I’m stuck with Temperature issues. Small space & on a budget 🙃…. Any possible ideas or suggestions for Temperature ? A small space heater 🤔😅🍄🩷🙏🏻
@JayP7.62 Жыл бұрын
@@remingtonfrog3170 I use modified jar lids with the little stick on filters. Or just drill the hole about the size of a pencil and use two layer of micropore tape. As far as temperature low to mid 70’s. I use a cabinet in my kitchen next to the refrigerator. The fridge puts off a little heat and the back of that cabinet is a wall and on the other side of the wall is my garage. So I get heat from there also. Usually right at 75F there.

If you don't have a pressure cooker yet, or just want to get a fast start with pre sterilized grains. I used the 5 grain jars from midwestgrowkits and am having awesome results. Looks like a wild bird seed mix but doesn't have sunflower seeds or corn in it and it does have some rye grains in it.

I just got my hands on a spore print and instantly found your channel. Have been passively looking for spores for a year or so, and now there's your video series. If this isn't cosmic alignment idk what is. Thank you for your work! A question: when working with prints, would simply using a burner to work underneath (instead of still air box) be sufficient? I fear it's only useful in Lab conditions, where inherent pollution is very low from the start, compared to the multiverse of things circulating around in my room. Thanks again, and peace with you!

so my question for you is, can't you just do a spore syringe to one of your agar cups? that way instead of using a full cc of liquid in a jar you can just maybe put a few drops into an agar cup and use that to colonize a quart jar?
@quagenxd3 жыл бұрын
would one drop of liquid be enough to colonize a whole agar cup? or will i need to transfer to another agar dish to fully colonize. If one drop fully colonizes the top of the agar than id only need one drop of solution per quart jar. any info is great thanks.
