Single barrel means it came out of a single barrel and wasn't blended. Not that it was th first use like you said. Single barrel is more exclusive than single malt. Singe malt is a blend of up to 40 barrels. Single barrel is from 1 barrel. The master distiller selects the best barrels to be single barrel lables and no barrels get blended. All bourbon is aged in a new barrel or its not bourbon. So no point in saying 1st barrel when its never aged in a used barrel.

Bret Maverick single and malt are different. its "single" n "malt". not "single malt". malt refers to the barley taking a good majority in the ingredients. im not sure what single means. i think distillery

Whisk(e)y is like Vodka made from grain (mix or pure). Whiskey is is non-scottish, irish or irish based (Scotch) Whisky is from scotland. Single Molt = only Barley.

Yeah wheat is the most common grain for vodka. And whiskey and scotch are more often done from Barley than wheat.

Mark Umbenhower Statement below is 100% correct on the single barrel. Also Bourbon can be made anywhere. Not just Bourbon Kentucky. To make a Bourbon you have to follow a few laws or Rules. 1. Bourbon must have at least 51% corn, it can have wheat. Rye. or both as long as 51% is corn. 2. All bourbons are made in new oak barrels. Never using the barrel more then once for bourbon. 3. Bourbons must be ages for at least 3 years. The peat use to smoke the barrel is not a must. Some are lightly smoked and some are not smoked at all. Most of your Scotch. Scottish Whisky or Bourbon is know for more smokey flavored. However this is not a rule in Scotland they are many Scottish bourbon that are not smokey. There is a lot more to whiskey. Whisky and Bourbon especially between Ireland and Scotland and the US. If interesting you just have to do some research.

I'm sure the definitions change slightly from country to country, but a liqueur contains sugar of at least 2.5% of mass. Therefore something like Captain Morgans Spiced Rum or a flavoured vodka are still liquors as they do not meet this criteria.

I believe Captain Morgan Spiced Rum is a liquor, not a liqueur. This is from their website: Original Spiced Smooth and medium bodied, Captain Morgan ® Original Spiced is a spirit drink based on a secret blend of Caribbean rums, mellow spice and other natural flavours. It gets its distinct richness and amber colour from aging the rum in charred white oak barrels. Captain Morgan ® Original Spiced is the perfect mix with Cola - the secret recipe of spices blend with the Cola to make a legendary mix! ABV: 35-37.5% (can vary by market) AVAILABLE: Worldwide A spirit is a hard alcohol, or liquor.

Personally i like doing my simple syrup from scratch and infuse it with sour orange peel, ginger and cinnamon. Then 3 oz of pisco, 1 oz of firm rich green mexican lime(is the most sour, not so bitter) juice and 1 oz of simple syrup. Add that on the shaker .

Bourbon is made all over kentucky. I live in bardstown which hosts the bourbon festival. We have 3 bourbon distilleries here alone. Heaven Hill, Barton Brands, Willett bourbons. You should check out the bourbon festival though. There is actually no Bourbon ky. There is a Bourbon county but they don't actually have a distillery at all.

Yes, and the logo is from Saint Hubertus or Hubert, 1st Bishop of Liège. St. Hubert chosen to cure rabies until the early 20th century through the use of the traditional St Hubert's Key, basically branding people with a molten hot iron cross. Mast was a devout follower and fellow Christian, hence the St Hubert's Key insignia logo. Tell people that in a bar and they gloss over..."uh....what?"...never mind, just drink up buddy. The "oh dear god" is more fun to tell....
