Basically all of their games are like that - This War of Mine is such an amazing counterpoint to all the "war games" we normally get, and Frostpunk is a great twist on the normal City Builder style game. I was already looking forward to Frostpunk 2, and this is going on the list too because I'm super interested to see where it goes (clones with different personalities, memories and histories makes me think they're not actually clones - maybe some kind of quantum or multi-verse thing?). Also it's cool to see a studio that doesn't just make the same game over and over once they get a hit. Like there's Survival as a commonality across their games, but they're pretty different from one another.

Other mind records are deleted on the quantum computer, you can only use your own as a basis. But yeah, I had the same question playing the demo, why only Jan's record is kept there. Maybe later on this gets answered.

This really looks like something that blends tried-and-true open world survival crafting aspects with fresh and innovative concepts. I'm a HUGE survival crafting gamer, and I'm trying to finally make my own content. This is definitely something I'm super-hyped to check out! I just hope 11 Bit doesn't release it too early. An unfortunate number of games these days go to early access waaaaay too soon, before they're ready, and it just ruins them. At the very least, the hype dies from an unfinished early release and it never regains steam. Even IF the game eventually becomes something good. There have been several games I've eagerly awaited that have gone that route and I was immensely disappointed in their first impressions. Now I'm gun shy about others on the horizon already talking about early access for the public. I'd rather play a short-ish demo than an unfinished, not ready early release. If this plays as good as it sounds, I'll definitely be spending quite a bit of time on this one!

Demo Gameplay felt a bit clunky, specifically the overworld movement, harvesting, and scanning mechanics. But the concept is awesome, and the bit of relationship management for the Alters seems like an interesting idea.

Even if the game isn't the best it could be it's still already better and more exciting then half the industry. Personally I like to reward devs that take risks that those who play it safe and just try to cash in with "safe" industry standards. Like microtransactions/live service systems injected into every game.

Wait, I’m confused - how does the cloning facility create “different” people? Does it simulate a different life and provide all the information for the new clone? If that’s the case, then the cloning computers would have all the necessary information and could merely just “make” a new clone with the same memories and personality as the original, just embedded with new technical / scientific skills. Is the cloning machine is pulling a different “mind” from multiple universes? If that’s the case, then that would be very unusual, and you’d wonder why they’d bother making a cloning machine that could do that.

sort of cloning/time machine. the machine clones versions of jan that did or didnt do stuff in the past that OG jan did. a version of jan that didnt dropout schoolm or a version of jan that didnt break up with his love interest. or that is atleast how an older video showed it. so just as you said, it simulate a different version of jan that specialized in something else. sorry for my bad explaining.
