the genesis block is any block located at X=0,Y=0, Z=0. A thing not accessible until Bedrock dropped below y=0. It is the block which is first spawned and which all other blocks spawn around upon the creation of a new MC world. It is the epicenter of new world genesis, and is therefore not necessarily a block type but a block location. Though it is probably deepslate.

That's a good one. I was thinking a sculk catalyst because that's what causes sculk to spread (i.e. the genesis of sculk and the deep dark) but the log is a shout. The only question is, what type then? Because the first log type you get will depend on where you spawn.

Genesis being beginning, I have a few ideas. Grass being the first block added to minecraft, Wood (specifically oak becasue its the first block Ren broke in S1E1 of minecraft 10 years ago) because its the first block you have to break to progress, End crystal becasue it begins a new end generation, Finally because its the newest (and smartest) generator block it could be the skulk catalyst as its is a block that semi-intelligently generates new blocks around it.

I knew Rendog was awesome. But this RentheKing guy, though. He’s doing some impressive work, the quest system is awesome, and I love seeing all the different hermits interact with. And it really adds to the communal feel of the server. RentheKing is doing a great job leading and inspiring their fellow hermits so far.

I love how Ren's doing a great job of encouraging server infrastructure and cross-interaction, but also playfully leaving the seeds for the inevitable "kings are bad, they make you mad" storyline. Diamond glasses, diamond studded coat floof, what will he think of next?

I love how cheery Ren is about his fellow hermits. When he was talking about how they might not have done the quests "correctly," he was super nice, saying people make mistakes in complicated systems and recording makes everything a little harder. No tearing down, only building up. Hermitcraft is full of such positivity, such good people, like this and that's why I love it :D

suggestion to make the challenge system simpler: hermits should leave their head when they take the reward. That way the king will know who completed the quest and also make sure nobody does more daily/weekly quests than they should. The heads can go into a barrel when the quests are reset so that the hermits don't have to kill themselves again.

Wood, grass, and dirt certainly fit the “genesis” definition, but remember that this is a block that Gigacorp lacked ample access to and Rosie didn’t know about. My guess is the Skulk Catalyst, the origin of skulk blocks; or possibly a block of Amethyst, which we’ve seen to be connected to the simulation ship from the S8 finale and is also connected to the creation of Allays.

My ideas for the genesis block are either a grass block: as you can generate more grass and flowers if you bonemeal it (and in sky block it's the way to get passive mobs to spawn) or a wood block; as it's always the first block you have to grab in a minecraft game in order to do anything else

To me Genesis block is 1 of the 3 options, either carved pumpkin, as it is the source of life for Golems. Alternatively, a spawner, tho I dont know how you would be able to deliver it, or a bone block.

In addition to that, someone pointed out that the genesis block wasn't something they had a definition for, which makes it unlikely to be moss, grass, or wood like many have suggested, but the location and timing of the skulk catalyst's appearance in the game, what with it being from a new update and spawning very deep underground makes it significantly more likely

Tossing in some less conventional ideas for the Genesis Block into the ring: a Clay or a Mud block. Both of these materials often have connotations to creation/new life. This mostly comes from many creation myths of humanity where a god would create the first humans using whatever materials are around. Though the material does vary from myth to myth, clay and mud are some of the most common.

That's really not a bad idea. Most of those myths of creation are often called genesis stories as they describe the genesis of humans (regardless of accuracy). I think the problem is that we have way too many ideas of what Genesis could mean that figuring out which of them it is I feel needs more clues.

I mean it literally says "collect your reward AND your head." So I would also interpret that as I take my head back. Also, it makes sense to return the crystals too so they can be re-used. Especially if it's a daily quest. Saves you time having to remake/anvil all the crystals.

You should hold a quest ceremony called “The Questies” or something every month or two and give awards out to the people who have done the most quests in that period. Then, it becomes an actual competition about something more than just a cosmetic thing, and it also makes it so that, since it’s during that period, one person can’t get massively ahead in one term and just constantly keep that lead. Essentially: there is always a fair chance for other people to win as well.

I do have a suggestion for the "Genesis Block", which to me has to be fairly unique and therefore not as common as grass or wood : the Dragon Egg, being the only egg (naturally associated with genesis) that is also a block. However, I'm not sure who has the egg this season, so it might be a little far-fetched ; I'd otherwise agree with sculk catalyst.

A block made by the heads of every hermit and mob on the server. When combined the block is told to bring a new power of unity and trust across the entire server. Mobs will bow down before its wielder and hermits will unite to craft the Gigamatrix. A beacon capable of calling new hermits to the server. A beacon that ties the bridge between worlds on a bridge of light. The hermit verse expanded to the next horizons.

Idea: for the arch of champions don’t just do diamond pillars. Use iron to represent completed daily quests, diamonds for weekly, and gold for unique, so you can see what hermits are doing what types of quests.

The arch is genuinely such a great idea, because it's basically just another diamond pillar competition, but with extra steps that benefit the server. Fixing the economy that was broken by the diamond pillar competition was Ren's primary motivation to become king in the first place. So it's almost ironic that Ren out of all people would start a new diamond pillar competition, but he does it in a way that doesn't break the economy. Ren, you domesticated the diamond pillar competition, you mad man!

Holy moly that fanart is SO GOOD AND SO PERFECT!!! ahhhhh! I love the quests SO much Ren! You mentioned in an episode previously about dailies in MMOs which made me think back to my WoW days when dailies were implemented. I understood they were to sort of help 'progression' of new lands, but seems silly because players aren't actually creating anything. With the daily quests like 'throw granite in the pit', you know that that granite will be converted into infrastructure for your world. It's truly amazing and wonderful.

Edit: For your record farm, have you considered a piston door to block off the kill chamber that you can cut power to to open a path for when you need the creepers to come through?

I think hermits leaving their heads is nice tokeep track of, and it'd also be cool to see how many heads ren gets from the season. If means hermits also will keep killing themselves, lol :D

The Arch of Champions is GORGEOUS, I'm really glad you're happy with it too, because it is wonderful. Although I am slightly disappointed Gem didn't take the chance to say "Ladies, get in line," when she was wearing Ren's head XD
