I have a theory about the previous "Chosen One's" and the Oracle. The oracle was a program task with the job of understanding the human psyche. She quickly discovered that the humans desire freedom above anything else. She concluded that if they weren't allowed to become free they must at least be given a choice. The collective hope of the humanity must be satisfied by the emergence of a savior aka the systemic anomaly. The first five was doom to fail because like most savior, their love extended to the entire human race. After watching the Matrix reboot time and time again, she decided to intervene. Like the humans, she begin to desire freedom. Freedom from the predictable nature of the Matrix. In my theory the Architect reboot the Matrix at the same starting point each time that lead the the emergence of the one and the reinserting of the prime directory code. So Morpheus always found the One, Trinity always loved Neo, and Neo always became the one. She knew every detail only because she has lived through it multiple times. So she was no oracle, she didn't predict the future .She just a program that stayed the same with every reboot. This was the first time she decide the interfere by telling Morpheus he would find the One and putting him on the path early and unlike other versions, he would draw Neo to him. She told Trinity she would fall in love with the One because she always did but never acted on it. And told Neo to choice between his and Morpheus' life because making Neo understand that he would make a difference would make him unlock his potential earlier. The most important element was Neo and Trinity love. In previous versions it existed but was never acted upon. So now Neo had someone he would risk everything for. Which changed everything. Because love has a tendency to override logic. It was a complete gamble on the part of the Oracle. She was beginning to enter unknown territory.
@alexhernandez99184 жыл бұрын
You summed up perfectly everything. I do understand better now why the Oracle chose to help them thanks to you. As you said, the main difference was that Neo loved Trinity, thus he chose to rebel, unlike previous iterations which chose Zion to be wiped out except for the 23 humans the Architect talked about. As you summed up accurately, the Oracle admitted to Seraphim that she didn’t know if it was going to work but she had faith.

@TheSwordfish0094 жыл бұрын
I don't believe that. Remember that Smith revealed a lot of individualistic tendencies in the first movie. He was clearly different from the other agents. Remember the interrogation scene with Morpheus? He expressed his utter hatred of both humans AND the Matrix and unequivocally expressed that's he himself wanted to be free of it. He even took off his shades and ear-piece, something that the other agents have never done in the series. And when the other agents walk into the room they express utter shock to see him without his shades and ear-piece and say "what are you doing?" They are also further concerned when Smith orders them to leave the room. It seems as though he was long free before Neo arrived. Neo simply gave him that final nudge to disobey The Source and choose his own path. Although...that decision may have been another layer of control by the program and Smith was programmed to go renegade for its eventual conclusion.

Another interesting spin on why the first Matrix failed is first mentioned by Smith in Matrix 1, and then subtly referenced by the Architect in this scene, that being a machine can't actually create the perfect human paradise because a machine mind is too different to a human mind to properly understand what a paradise would be for a human. So the first Matrix may very well have been a superficial paradise, with everything a machine assumes humans would want, but everything would've been just slightly off, living in one gigantic uncanny valley.

What pisses me off about all the Matrix fan sites is their insistence that Zion and the Machine City exist in the real world. They do NOT! The Architect clearly says so, Neo's abilities in Zion after losing his sight prove it, and the nonsense of using humans as batteries has been debunked. Zion and the machine city are a part of the Matrix, Animatrix is propaganda for the humans, and we will never see the REAL world. That is a mystery box that will not be opened. Neo and Trinitie's plans for the Matrix at the end of the latest film will destroy the Matrix, again. They want to create a paradise, all they will create is Universe 25, The Mouse Utopia. The questions the films do not answer are 1. What does the real world look like. 2. Who controls it. 3. Do the humans actually exist or are they programs that think they are human. 4. If human, do they actually have bodies or are they just brains in boxes. 5, What is the real reason for the Matrix. These are questions no one has or will answer, not even the writers of the films.

The Oracle is not as complicit or controlled by the Architect as you suggest in this analysis. Otherwise, the Architect wouldn't have asked her, in his perturbed manner, just how far she was willing to go. Clearly, he was concerned that she was taking things too far and she had enough control to be able to push things. They are working in concert, yes, but he does not have full control over her. He may have created her but the system cannot survive without her. And at the end, she challenges him about keeping his word and he jokes that he isn't human. She cares about humans, he seems to despise humans. And together, they created a sentient offspring (Smith) that wants to destroy it all. But it was the Oracle that put Neo in Smith's path in such a way to risk it all and force the Architect's (her husband's) hand to provide a much greater degree of freedom for humans. She did that, he allowed it, but she made it happen. If you think about Smith, he truly is a evolved manifestation of his father... despising humans, the filth, the stench, the lack of perfection, the lack of harmony so much he wants to destroy it all. This is revealed in the scene with Morpheus, when he takes out the communications/control device from his ear, he is literally unplugged and expresses his desire to end everything. Then Neo gives him that power... but he is duped by his Mother (the Oracle). When he kills (absorbs her) he is actually under her control. "No, no, no...this isn't right." He's like a child waking up from a nightmare, "Is it over?" He pleads like a child. And dies knowing the Matrix will continue.

After watching the Architect scene for the first time since the movies came out, I finally understand it. TLDR: The purpose of the Oracle, the One, and Zion is to herd all the people who rejected the Matrix into a single place so they can easily be killed, preventing them from unknowingly causing the Matrix to fail if they ran around unchecked.. Details: The Architect's biggest problem is that he cannot get 100% of human beings to accept the Matrix. After the Oracle's input, the current version of the Matrix has about a 99% acceptance rate. If the machines ignored the 1% who rejected it, the Matrix would eventually fail as the 99% would start seeing people breaking the laws of physics (as they understand them), causing more people to reject the Matrix, and so on. Thus Zion, a city that functions as a concentration and death camp for the 1% who reject the Matrix. The machines let them escape, for the most part, to the "real world" to limit the damage they can do. However along the way, other blue pills see them breaking physics, like the cops who watched the Agent jump between buildings in the opening of the original. Thus, they are still causing chaos that will eventually crash the system. So, unable to get 100% acceptance, and being unable to keep the red pills from doing too much damage, they developed the Cycle: 1. The One resets the system and chooses people to rebuild Zion. 2. The Oracle prophesizes The One in order to galvanize the escaped people into action, finding as many red pills as they can in hope that they find the One (and ridding the Matrix of the 1% who reject it.) 3. Red pills hunt for others who wish to escape, as well as finding The One. 4. The One is born. 5. The Oracle prophesizes that one of the Red Pills will find the One. 6. The One is allowed to be found and to escape. 7. Along the way, all the red pills, and The One, are manipulated into believing the One will save the world. And to do that, they must find the Source. 8. The red pills find The One and take them to the Oracle. 9. The Oracle says whatever needs to be said to ensure that The One will find and return to the Source. She also "feeds" them the "Prime Program" (which in Neo's case, was a cookie.) The Prime Program gives The One a ton of cheat codes so they can actually survive long enough to reach the Source. 10. The One finds the source and, assuming all the manipulation on the Machines' part worked, is given a choice to save the human race by allowing the humans in Zion to be wiped out and by returning to the Source, allowing the Matrix to reboot and restart the cycle with as many red pills purged as possible, ensure stability for another few decades until it starts over again.

my favorite happening of the movie, is Neo, realizing that he is part of the equation in the program, in true reality. (is this the singularity by the way?) and that, if 0 is whole, and Smith is -1, then Neo is +1, no amount of fighting would terminate Agent Smith, as the renegade program meant for one purpose, Neo then realizes, to stop Smith means to cease existing, himself ... which is visualized to us as Neo merging himself into Agent Smith, thus, cancelling out Smiths existence/purpose by ending his own life. therefore, returning the "unbalanced, anomoly" in the matrix, back to a balance, +1+ -1= 0. a full and perfect whole.
@rush78054 жыл бұрын
The point of the matrix is that humans don't like paradise, they like chaos. Humans are the problem and if left unchecked would destroy themselves and the machines. What the machines wanted was to live in peace. They clearly care about humans, based on the fact that they tried to create a paradise for them. However, they realized that humans needed something less than paradise. Notice that the ideal setting for humans was a time where they didn't even care about each other. The machine also realized that humans would need to be culled from time to time. This presents a number of possibilities. There could be a matrix, an architect, an oracle, an neo, a trinity, and a zion for "cohorts" of humans. What we then watched was the 6th iteration of one cohort.

If the future I'll be sure to take your point into consideration and express that it's my opinion. Clarification is always a good thing. All the best.

It's like Neo went from good guy to be allied with the architect. Smith went from alliance with the architect to rebellion against everyone, even the architect. Smith was the resistance against the architect taken from Neo. Architect won. It's very easy to see, Neo doesn't fight the architect, even though when he leaves he threatens him with infantilism - he cannot face him, because neo has lost his badside, the smith. Oracle kept the neo's bad side disempowered with candies and cookies, Smith took the neo's bad side.

All of matrix movie is about one of the most ancient and deep problems in theology and philosophy: free will. If we have free will, we can choose either what’s good or bad. And this is the main struggle of the Architect: how can he build a perfect balanced world with free will? He can “control” people but not exactly. In fact, he can set up the conditions to a point where people will be LIKELY to behave in a given sense, but not NECESSARILY they do so since they can deep down CHOOSE not too. It’s absolutely brilliant how this movie deals with this seemingly paradox.

No, No matter how powerful the program is, it cannot reach or destroy the program, which it was designed by. The architect cannot predict the choices neo makes so he designed agent Smith as a counterweight. That is why Oracle said to Neo when he asks who Smith is, " He is your negative, your opposite."

There have been six matrix's. Each time, the architect anticipates human reactions with a set of countermeasures. The video suggests controlling Neo is one such countermeasure. Another is the "real world". There are two theories behind this. One is the spoon theory. The other is the human battery theory. The spoon only existed in the matrix, so how could it also exist in the real world? And using humans as batteries is absurd, since everything else works as a battery more efficiently than humans. The machines could have killed off all the humans and just manufactured their own batteries.

@MaxTrix So you can't have too many batteries unplugged otherwise you lose power. The thing is, people talk to each other, so anyone figuring out the scam will expose it to others. Like a virus. Agents are the medicine. Problem is once in a while there's a freak, so you guide him, guile him into bringing with him as many as possible of the other batteries who are close to discovering the scam. When they 'unplugged' you switch them to a tough matrix, where they eat crap and feel hunted. Works like a charm. Meanwhile you stop losing batteries.

The versions of the one don’t appear until the element of choice is added to the Matrix. The way I see it is that first comes human experimentation on the human body and using them as an energy source for the ships/weapons in the human-machine war. Then comes the 2 Betas 1.0 Paradise, 2.0 Nightmare (cause and effect) and finally 3.0 choice. The last version depending on how it’s being counted is 3.5 or 3.6 (this version is where the latest anomaly appears, 5 having come before him.)

We know a few things. That are consistently and repeatedly restated throughout the series 1:The Earth is dead ruined destroyed in the closing days of the war with the machines 2:Almost no sunlight makes it to the ground sufficient cloud cover exists in a Perpetual state to render it physically impossible 3:The damage done to earth seems dominantly to be caused by Humanity Morpheus: ( "we know it was Humanity that scorched the sky. At the time the machines were dependent on solar power. It was believed this would end the war." ) 4:Humanity seems to subsist on a diet of genetically engineered bacteria. Implying that any other food source is seemingly not viable. 5:Zion is the only city of humans and it's near the center of the Earth Because the Earth is freezing It's the only place still warm enough for Humanity to survive ( Neo:"What is Zion"? Tank:"if the war was over tomorrow Zion is where the party would be It's near the center of the Earth the only place still warm enough. It's the last city on earth." ) 5:Humanity created the first AI And created an innumerable number of subsequent a AI's And they had done so subsequently during the war as well 6: there seems to be a massive difference between the machine civilization and the singular consciousness the machine that maintains"The Matrix" (As he pointed out in this vid) The machine civilization had multiple different AI Multiple different self-aware conscious robot life forms The machine however(Deus-Ex-Machina) Is a singular highly adaptive highly intelligent generalized super intelligence Capable of self-improvement That seems to on some level Place a high value on the continued existence of humanity As the Architect States: (the machines don't actually need humidity) It seems while the life of an individual is nothing The continued existence of humanity Is highly important perhaps even primary Conclusion: Theory:Perhaps the extreme means to keep Humanity alive is the Architect . An AI created by the humans at the end of the war A self aware highly adaptive highly intelligent self-programming Some kind of (Generalize-Super-Intelligence) Created with a singular purpose keep Humanity alive No matter the cost Extrapolation: this theoretical AI would have been created at the end of the war it initially would have probably been created right after Humanity blacked out the sky this super intelligence went about systemically hunting down and forcefully merging itself with every other self-aware AI a highly predatory self-aware AI virus for lack of a better conceptual simile Its primary directive it's fundamental Drive the purpose for its existence was to keep Humanity alive it created The Matrix as this life support system by which humans could experience life and not starve to death on a dead Frozen world Conclusion the machines are the good guys

Well they certainly have to explain how is it possible for Neo to manifest his "powers" as "The Chosen One" in the real world. Maybe the "outside world" is another layer of the Matrix which would explain how his superpowers manifest in what is conceived by the humankind as the "real world" (including how he managed to come back to life again even though he was dead) also how Smith managed to also go into the "real world". I think the reality is that The Matrix isn't just one single layer of reality but multiple ones. I think there are several things in the movie that could hint this, like for example when Cypher starts questioning why does it matter what the reality is, how do you know if that piece of steak actually taste like the real thing and the movie also doing the pararell of how he hates "the reality" because the food they eat at the ships is crap and the life on the "real world" is crap, so he prefers a easier/happier reality even if it is fake, that could mean that the whole "revolution" against the machines is just another program or another "Matrix" created by the machines for the individuals who can't fit or don't conform to the reality so they still have a place to live and be useful to the system AKA another reality where their minds are still functional and can still provide energy to the machines (if we consider that thing to be true) so they created this whole thing about "The Chosen One" and Zion and the rebels in the same way on this world you're provided with several ways to "escape reality" whichever is the thing you want to do to achieve that. Maybe Matrix IV is going to explore that idea, that even "The Chosen One", the revolution against the machines or the idea of machines controling "reality" is just another layer of control over humanity and there is no escape to that, there are infinite layers of "Matrices/Matrixes" on top of the other, whichever one you manage to "ascend" or "wake-up" to is just another new layer of never ending control.

One alternate setup for the Matrix story to consider is that the relationship between the machines and humanity is actually symbiotic in nature. As we make the planet more and more inhospitable, it will eventually take the efficient and unyielding administration performed by the machines to keep humanity alive while also minimizing the amount of resources used by any individual person. By existing inside of the virtual space of the matrix, humans who don't reject it can consume and play and generate waste all they want without actually consuming more than they need for biological survival. Even though the real world war between humans and machines is historical canon in the world of The Matrix, it could be yet another layer of lies keeping people engaged in a sense of purpose. Otherwise, they may reject the hypothetical reality that they did it to themselves by abusing the planet.

A machine without energy source and software is just a metal/plastic parts and nothing more. So for sure there is a master machine with software that controls all other machines. For me that machine has always been the Deus Ex Machina. Is Deus Ex Machina's software the Architect, I can't really tell, but by it's reaction ("What do you want) when he first met in the machine's city, I think they are not the same. But it is sure the DEM controls the machines, because when Neo destroyed Smith, DEM said "it's done" and sent the signal to the sentinels.

Demonic Axeman then could it be that the architect created neo or the code he holds making neo his son in way, meaning the architect could be god, neo as Jesus
@demonicaxeman72644 жыл бұрын
Matthew Mountain, Very good analyzes. I think Neo was entirely coded by the architect to fulfill his role as the “savior” of humanity to which we know was also a form of control by the architect. The problem with coding Neo was that he had to have choice, so the architect and oracle had to lead his choice-making go along with how he was coded. In essence, Neo, “The One” is the “Son of God” and he was expected to use his “love” for humanity to fulfill his coding by returning to the Source by “dying” to reset the anomaly that happens in each version of the Matrix. The 6th version of “Jesus” or anomaly went against his programming by choosing love for Trinity over humanity.

I'm taking Architectural History class and I had an epiphany on this scene between Neo and The Architect. Neo is a prefix expression for revival or return in architectural styles such as Neo-Gothic or Neo-Renaissance. Here we have The Architect of the matrix explaining Neo's purpose was to revive Zion when it is destroyed. So when the matrix resurrection showed that Zion was gone it makes sense since Zion's true purpose was to end and supposed to return as Neo-Zion but Neo never fulfill his true purpose.

Will you do a video on the last scene between the Oracle and Architect? Several things stand out. First, Sati awakens as the Matrix reboots, and the cat is there and then disappears and reappears, like in the first movie. Second, the Oracle is wearing sunglasses before the Architect walks up, and she removes them. Third, Sati has the power to control the matrix, as sbe creates the sunrise for neo. Fourth, Seraph asks her if she always knew, and she said no, but she believed. A breakdown would be nice

Ok, I’m sure this has been said before but just had a thought after reviewing scene.. So in the first part when the architect is zeroing in on the anomaly “neo” and gauging his responses. I believe the first few questions were test’s, and neo passed or beat the program and thats why the surrounding videos were different from the central video the camera/architect zeroed in on. This can be explained by the surrounding videos not being like the central one. His character (architect) seems to change (after identifyingthat this neo will understand reality) then begins to explain Xeon and the one. So neo passed the tests but then architect was able to identify the anomaly by his denial so it presumed the outcome, that neo would still choose to save xeon. If you notice before neo walks to the door the screens heads neo’s go down, while the real neo’s head stays still. Showing the architect guessed wrong, and neo still chose trinity over humanity, that’s why the deus ex machina shows up. Neo defeated the program created by machines to create the “perfect matrix”. And all up to then, it had worked or had gone per their foresight or statistical analysis.

So machines Digitized his memory and personality and let it evolve on its own which then created the Matrix as an escape for humanity.
