QUESTION. what if, on the greek gift, he moves his king to g6 after the knight's check? queen to d3 then push pawn, en pessant check, then h6....now you can win the queen with a discovery, but is there a quicker mate?

But in the first puzzle what if black doesn't take the Knight? Just Qc8 and everything is fine?

Good point. Kf7 isn't in the top 3 computer moves. Qc8 gives white a 0.73 advantage. But King takes is the/a human move.

If, in the first puzzle, after 1. Nxd7, Black plays 1... Qc8, then White plays 2. Qxe6 threatening both 2. Nd6 discovered check, winning the Black Queen and also the deadly double check 3. Nh6 ++ followed by a smothered mate with 4. Qg8 and 5. Nf7 mate. I don't see a defence to this devastating Alekhine attack.
