THE ART OF WUMEI 伍枚 (Part I) - Master Yap Boh Heong | Season 3 EP 6

In this episode, I visit Master Yap Boh Heong and Sifu Ben Shue in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to discuss the rare and unknown Kung-fu style of the legendary Kung-fu empress Wumei (Ng Mui in Cantonese.)
According to oral history, legend has it that Wumei took refuge in the Southern Shaolin temple, where she later founded several styles of Kung-fu. It was there that she met 'Yim Wing Chun,' a young lady who was threatened by a local bandit attempting to force her into marriage. She was saved by Wumei, ​who distilled her profound knowledge of Shaolin Kung-fu into a system that Yim Wing Chun could learn quickly and use to fight off the bandit. The martial art Yim Wing Chun learned was given the name Wing Chun.
