How does he not recognize the woman he is determined to marry?! The story never mentioned masks, otherwise I would understand, sort of!

I theorized that The Prince had eyesight problem, but back at that time "flaw" like this considered as shame so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@@abitlate Well, the princes in folktales are rarely credited as being smart, the only one I can remember mentioning the prince being smart is the prince in 'The Frost Queen'.

I'm going through a really hard time in life and your videos are helping me a lot. Your voice is so soothing and it really immerses us. Spooky or fairytale, it doesn't really matter, your videos always help me feel calm and forget about reality for a bit. Sorry if this sounds like I'm seeking attention or something, I just wanted you to know that you really do have a positive impact and we love you

In the Perrault version the step mother is described as a very good manipulator ... So it kind of makes sense why the father would be so useless 🤣🤣🤣

Nobody: Not even a bit late/a bit frank: The captions: *PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG* No seriously, the captions actually did say that when a bit late was saying pick pick pick for when the birds were picking up the lentils and peas.

I just realized the translator of this story translated "Turteltauben" as ... "turtle doves"? That's kind of funny, it actually means something along the lines of "love birds" ( or "love doves" haha... "flirting doves" if you want a direct translation ) since you can often see dove couples grooming each other. "Turtle" is actually called "Schildkröte" in German so no reptilian doves here, just regular dove couples. Fun fact: "Turteltauben" much like "love birds" is also a term used for human lovers. That's why I think it would have been a better translation. Also fun fact: I don't think the verb "turteln" is commonly used in any context other than pigeons or doves in German. An animal-specific word, if you will. Either way, loving the narration as always.
