Honestly don't think you're wrong with anything stated. Ownership and management messed up thinking the Hawks were okay running it back. Schlenk didn't want to do the DJM trade, so they pushed him out and the owner gave power to his nepo kid to go through with the trade. Now the hawks are in a downward trend and like you said, I'm sad to say but I think there's a fairly high chance that Trae is no longer a Hawk post 2025 offseason.

a lot of these "bad defense" clips on dejounte is just bad team defense by the hawks, on that first clip where he gambled, he obviously couldnt recover because he was burnt, but there was 0 help for tobias at the rim, and on that devin vassell clip you can see that 4 hawks players were on 1 side of the floor, tre jones drove and dejounte had to guard 2 ppl, he had to try to take away the corner which meant vassell would be wide open since nobody wanted to rotate. dejounte murray's biggest issue is he doesnt put that much effort defensively, like many other stars, but he can be really good on that side of the ball he's a smart defender

Ngl I hate how people blame this all on the hawks fo. They’re not the best but at least they try to get young talented players around him. Young may literally be the worst defender I’ve ever seen. He really gives no shits about playing hard unless he got the ball in his hand. How many coaches and role players gotta get blamed before they realize building around Trae as your #1 isn’t gonna work

Luka has such a huge load offensively that it's probably a bit harder for him to but he has the capability to be a neutral or even positive defender
