If 100% of the student population is Asian, then so be it. They worked their asses off to be the best, and deserve to be chosen for admission. As a white person who could score lower, it just motivates me to work harder. At least I don’t have to use my skin color and gibber about “they be racis’!” to get ahead.

Not everyone has big heart like you. Getting into the elite schools doesn’t mean you will be successful in life or happier… I love America and American value. Most people didn’t care which school you graduated. I ask my children to study hard and be their best. Harvard isn’t their dream school!!

We seem to have been primed for this for a long time. 40 years in the workforce and affirmative action the whole time, “to address past imbalances”. It’s been a slow slide until recently now things are hotting up. Let’s hope it’s not too late. Having said that the lefts ability to score own goals is unparalleled. On a related note, last year The New York Times called for an end to "blind auditions" for orchestras last year because they fail at "diversity." Never mind that having musicians draw a number out of a hat and play behind a curtain was intended to make the process as objective as possible. The best reporting I've seen on this was on a Trotskyist (!) site, wsws.org: "New York Times Calls for De Facto Racial Quotas in Classical Music."

What we should do is at 18 sign up for Merit society or Equity Society. Then when we want services etc we can only chose from the society we have signed up for. So if an Equity person needs surgery they could only get an equity surgeon to operate etc etc

Progressives believe that all people and all ideas should be equal. Progressives also believe that the legal system should be used to make all people and ideas equal. This is the opposite of a meritocracy where people and ideas are ranked on the basis of merit. The overwhelming success of progressivism in the West is what is causing the downfall of the West.

You ask for my thoughts at the end. I think that organised, centralised schooling is totally dead and I will no longer participate in its advancement. My kids are out of the school system now and I have educated them as best I can on the benifits of western thought and history. Unfortunately my adult daughter (as they all seem to do) is starting to become a woke ideologue, I hope she finds herself a way out of that thinking.

It will be a matter of You having been teaching her what's known as original thinking or not. People taught in original thinking and thus asking for background informations to understand the whole thing will probably see through hollow ideologies, people taught to take what they're told for granted and to follow (parent's) rules no matter what won't. It is prudent to see the woke as religious extremists. The true believers did not come to their position by logic and they can not be argued or reasoned out of their beliefs. They see their cause as certain as gravity and will not see any thing even objective facts showing otherwise. Anyone who speaks a word against them they see as inherently evil, ignorant, and blasphemous. Like the Spanish Inquisition they honestly think they are serving a greater power by threatening and torchering the blasphemers until they see the light of the beliefs they push. Unfortunately their message is a lie and we know because they must grow their belief by threats and intimidation rather than telling people about it and letting them chose it of their own accord.

The only ratio there should be is a local to out of state/province to immigrants. A certain percent of students from the same state. A certain percent of students from the other states. A certain percent of students from other countries (could also implement a ratio for various countries, such as larger from countries deemed to be "allies", etc.).

So! What we are witnessing here is another attempt to deny that (whatever the criteria used to permit students to further their education) ethnic groups differ in average abilities. Clearly it's not whiteness that gives a white student ability else all white students would succeed and they don't. This, as the title of the video proclaims, is a sheer unadulterated attack on the merit of groups who succeed by showing a greater average ability, no matter what the ethnic origin, or colour of skin of the students seeking admission. I believe that people who champion this sort of rubbish have a vision of a dystopian world where everyone is exactly the same and those who do not fit that sameness are put down.

I think it did. For some reason the date on this video is dated for today. (April 14, 2021) several comments are already Five Months Old. Heck, Independent Man is talking as if this video was posted BEFORE the election. And (looking at the description of the video) IT WAS posted five months ago on Halloween. Near as I can tell, the video was BLOCKED from public viewing all this time. That's part of how the algorithm works.
