One of the greatest comebacks ever. They lost Ricky Wilson. Keith takes over guitar and the songwriting and singing just became magical by all of them. They should be in the Rock Hall of Fame.

I heard a story from someone who claimed to have lived in Athens in the late 70's. The B-52's showed up at a party that was occurring one night. The person who was throwing the party wanted to charge crashers a cover fee to get in. The B-52's at that time were known but not yet famous. The guy said he was tasked to handle the door. The B's showed up and the guy told them about the cover fee. They said they didn't have any money and wouldn't pay any if they did and started to leave. The guy then asked if they had any buds that they could contribute. Allegedly Keith Strickland said " we don't but we have these", and pulled what was at least an ounce of shrooms out of his pocket. They were purple and gnarly. They then gave him several caps and stems and were admitted. He then ate some of it and within thirty minutes he was wandering around the surrounding streets in this neighborhood in a psychedelic daze. Best mushrooms that he ever had according to him.

Saw them at the Warmoth Theater in San Francisco in 89'. They had to stop the show for a few minutes to get the audience to stop bouncing on the balcony because it was raining down plaster on the lower audience. I wonder if they remember that. Not verry populair in my country because there was a lot of competition from the new wave and disco who wasent dead yet, big popstars like michael jackson, madonna etc etc . But B52 had its own style, and I loved it verry much. For me channel Z was there best song, because in Channel Z both female voices where going in canon. Verry difficuld to bring this song live I suppose. In my opinion this is a much underrated band !!!! I alreddy love the B 52 for 35 years and will love them the rest of my life !!!
