At the same time you don't know how many "radical ideas" they have approached that turned out to be false. It's like when you show your work to a music producer, expecting him to be surprised, but the dude hears thousands of songs and different sounds every week and has to sift through them. Not every radical idea is a good one and there needs to be a healthy amount of scepticism within the scientific community. What should be frowned upon is when the backlash is due to personal reasons, not professional.

We can build underground. We can build below sea level. Both of these are possibilities right now, but rarely undertaken due to cost concerns. More pop would mean sufficient demand to make this happen. Every few miles underground is a whole new planet waiting to be populated.

Sinclair actually touched upon in this earlier. He said that the world population would consist of much more healthy individuals and that healthy people tend to have less children. The population would eventually reach 9-10 billion and remain there since each couple would have approximately two kids or less.

From Johns Hopkins, "At the turn of the 20th century, deer were nearly extinct. Hunters had decimated their populations and Lyme disease was likely rare as a result. Over the last century, deer populations have exploded and our land use has changed. “People moved from the city to the suburbs because they like to live on one-acre lots that allow the forest to intermingle, and deer are happy to cohabitate with people,” Aucott says. Meanwhile, warmer winters may be expanding the geographic range of animals associated with Lyme, helping to explain the spread of the disease in places like Canada. "
