I truly miss the days where I actually enjoyed watching game shows. Maybe it's just nostalgia, who knows? What I DO know is that this is one of the WORST game shows I have ever watched, and I don't even know if I can pinpoint a reason. That being said, please enjoy Are You Hot?

I feel like people just project their insecurities outwards and criticize others for the gossip, and not being the subject of ridicule, especially in the last few decades. It's like 'if I attack others for what I fear about my own body, hopefully I can direct peoples attention outwards and I don't have to look inwards, and improve my own self esteem. My mom constantly makes comments about girls wearing skirts she deems "too short" and stuff like that when we're just driving somewhere, and it's up to me, the 19 year old boy, to go hey mom I didn't notice, nor care, stop being so judgey. I know my mom is insecure about herself, but to project it onto like teens walking to school is really weird. What people wear or how they look is of no importance to a passing car. If everyone just minded their damn business and stopped critiquing people's flesh vessels, then we'd all get along a lot better.

Definitely messed up alot of us girls mental health I literally had to drop out because I was treated as a freak. I'm naturally bigger. So I was targeted. The attitude era had very sexual and provocative storylines, uncensored swearing, hateful speech on boards/signs lifted by fans, chaotic violence but it was popular in every household. Hear me out tho… “Are they hot?” A show about judging *fictional* characters based on how they look and their overall personality and lore. Each episode’s gonna cover over characters from a specific show. And the judges have to watch some well made fan edits of the characters. But the judges would change basically every episode so that the judges are actually of the fandom. One of them, simps for the heroic side. One of them, simps for the villains. And then there’s that one guy who just has the weirdest most unhinged childhood crushes on fictional characters. The host either loves the show or hates it but still has some sort of passion for them. Are They Hot could be a podcast tbh. Perhaps there’s a special episode of it made specifically for the fans of the show and they judge all the judges from the show and the host. (They definitely will have a bias for the host)

13:20 - I mean yeah, this show predated the "thicc" era. 2003? And no thigh gap? You were automatically considered fat, so it's no wonder the judges took off for it. It wasn't until maybe 2015ish that things shifted to where having thicker thighs was a positive and not a negative. Early 2000s were BRUTAL for girls that weren't so skinny they had a thigh gap. I grew up during that time and it was a huge shift in the beauty standards & perceived pressure when things shifted away from "emo-level skinny" to "mrs incredible lookin kinda fine" rhetoric. I went from getting bullied for having a bigger ass/thighs to mostly being left alone (no more bullying, but some random kid did grab my ass in PE). Not great either way but I preferred (mostly) being left alone to being mocked, and it was kind of a breath of fresh air to have that shift in beauty standards to where you no longer felt automatically disgusting for having thicker thighs

I was a primary schooler at the time and luckily I don't think anyone talked about ass at all where I was, but even back then people talked about boobs. Getting into my teenage years I never even thought about mine or anyone else's ass and then when asses became a thing, I looked at mine, said aight good enough and continued with my life. Obsession with bodyparts sounds like a serial killer or overall assailant trait idk.

I'm always confused when people talk about this show that they clown on Lorenzo Lamas the most, because he's the only one of the judges and host I've heard of before. Also I don't know why people complain about "Is it Cake?" It's part baking competition part decorating competition, and it's pretty fucking amazing to see how confusing some of the cakes are.
