This is the last time I'm ever going to watch cable TV. The Bible is very boring and has no reason to have as many film/TV adaptations as it does. That being said, this show has to be the bottom of the barrel. I did not like this show at all, however, I suppose it's my fault for deciding to watch it. Enjoy.

Honestly, people DO misinterpret the bible to include bigoted things. There is a theory that, in the original untranslated texts, there is no mention of gay people AT ALL throughout most of it, and the phrases that most people connect with being gay may not even mention them at all. There is, in all likelihood, probably a good chance that the bible, as a whole, in its untranslated text, doesn't have much of what we consider to be the more bigoted or harmful parts of the more popular translations as we know them today.

Idk if you’ll see this, but I’m a Brazilian and part of the shooting took place not far from where I live. In fact I know a guy who actually worked with the crew for a few scenes. All I can say is that the acting is just as ridiculous and the dialogue just as bad in the original Portuguese. The actors were just models that had no idea what they were doing. Oh and the misogyny you noticed is due to the fact that the TV channel that produced and aired this is owned by a millionaire cult leader who sees women as inferior.

I have so many thoughts. I originally watched this with my phone in greyscale to go to sleep soon but idk I had ti see the color. The greyscale is still pretty fitting ngl. A few things I noticed. I'm an anth and hist major, I was raised catholic, the Bible is absolutely written similar to ancient epics which are written like songs. It probably was meant to be entertaining and educational at some point. This is probably unintentional but Andy make it sound like he thinks Lucifer is a human. Lucifer is an angel so he has wings. With my color turned on I think the tomatoes is a persimmon! The tree's fruit gifts Adam and eve with knowledge and that'd why they suddenly are aware of their nudity. They didn't have the knowledge to be/feel uncomfortable or awkward before. They also I think are meant to have children just appear in eden instead of be born? I could be wrong here idr very well. Anyway just some small stuff I noticed, wonder if anyone else did too. Really enjoying the video rn

i'm brazillian and i was NOT expecting any of this when i decided to watch this video, i got such whiplash when you showed the opening sequence and THEY WERE SINGING IN PORTUGUESE???? THIS IS A BRAZILLIAN SHOW?????? but anyways i have no idea why they decided to put this fruit specifically but in 5:51 it's not actually a tomato, we call that fruit "caqui" and it's normal for people to just eat it raw, it doesn't taste like a tomato

The English word for that fruit is Persimmon. But I just figured out that the Japanese name for it is derived from the Portuguese name, so fun fact in Japanese they call it kaki (柿/カキ). Japanese uses a lot of words derived from Portuguese, like bread is pan (パン).

@@momothebug that's really interesting!! i'm pretty sure the pronunciation is the same, the "k" has the same sound as "qu" in portuguese. one thing i wish i knew more about is the use of "né" (or just ne) bc i've heard it being used at the end of sentences in japanese, and idk what it means but in portuguese we also use at the end of phrases, usually with similar meaning of "right?" in english. is it something like that in japanese as well?

@@FileCode1459 yeah that's exactly right! It would be used like in English you would finish a sentence with right?, isn't it? or more casually "huh?". For example "it's hot today isn't it?" "Kyou wa atsui desu ne". There's another particle yo which is also used to end a sentence and is more like "you know/y'know" Or "get it?" like ne is something the other person knows and yo is more implying they may not know that, but now they do. For example "it's my birthday you know" "tanjoubi desu yo". You can also put the two together sometimes. "He's famous don't you know?" "Yumei desu yo ne". Cool right? Kakkoi ne?
