Barry Norman - It's the only film that has scared quite like that. William Friedkin - Ah that's wonderful I'm very happy to hear that. Brilliant.

Barry Norman. I remember sitting in Dublin in the 70s waiting for Barry's BBC prgramme to come on as I became interested in cinema. Good memories.

Without doubt one of the most important films in my life.. it has the 3 fold attributes of Spirituality..physicalty .. mentality . The first 10 minutes of the movie in Northern Iraq and the shot showing Good V Evil still evoke genuine apprehension. The other + is we do not have to endure the mind numbing scenes of horror movies made recently and how they have to show there is no cell phone signal !

IMHO the story is truly about Father Karras's loss of faith.

If I knew how to contact William Friedkin, I'd like to tell him that his commentary on The Leopard Man was excellent, the best film commentary I've listened to. I really enjoyed and appreciated his knowledge and his thoughts!

I remember my parents hiring the vhs of the movie out our local newsagent back in about 1983. It was just before the film was banned in the UK (deemed a "video nasty") by the Tory government. They didnt let me watch it as i was only 9 at the time. I now have the blu ray edition of this classic movie which has loads of great extras (shows you how they did the special effects).

Ironic that Disney is censoring his movie French Connection now for the dialogue.

I agree that there is no such thing has an old movie. This is nonsense. An ignorant view point because there is learning in it all. The problem of cinemas interpretation it suffers has it is classed has popular culture. Pop corn culture. A mass media. Paintings, sculpture or classic music on the other hand is generally regarded has high culture & always stands the test of time. Music or films just don’t get that respect.
