It pains me to see so few Mazdas on the roads. They are beautiful, useful features (not gimmicks), drive well and are reliable. It's like the designers actually like driving and using their cars. Compared to everyone else who just jumps on the latest trend (touch screen everything, small unreliable highly sprung engines, etc) or build a skeleton to reach a price point (Toyota). The entire line up is well executed.

Physical buttons and knobs for me is one of the big considderations if I buy a car. Obviously media stuff can be touchscreen and some deeper settings but things you would adjust regularly on the go must be controlled by knobs and buttons. Watched your previous video, asked myself the question: What us the point of being tought not to use your cellphone if it is built into the dash anyways and your whole car is controlled of it. Honestly.🤷

I think it is the best in the class, especially if you compare it to the X3/GLC/Audi Q5 (check dimensions, engine size, and technology on the inside). By the way the claimed consumption is at “Normal” drive mode doing an average of 100km/h of combined town and freeway driving. The mere fact that you call the engine a beast means you must have enjoyed ‘putting your foot down 😅’ - and thus the higher consumption (you should be able to attain between 5 and 6litres per 100km on Normal drive instead of the lovely Sports and great engine sound

Nice review. How is the ride quality though ? I noticed you were driving on very good roads so I didn't see you or the car bouncing, lol ? We have the 2.5NA Dynamic Version and the ride quality and bouncy nature of the suspension is just horrible. Now stiff I can handle but not a suspension that bounces like a Mk1 Golf on Cut springs. I know there are recalls on the Steering issue and also for suspension in the Uk and Aus, but does this version suffer from the same issues as the earlier 2023 models ? I know its a new Platform and most will be regarded as teething issues but still, for the segment this car is in, it should never be so bad to drive. I mean, its a Mazda and built in Japan, what happen to their stringent quality control. These issues are very well known, so please advise if this is an improvement on the suspension from the previous 2.5NA version you drove ? We are really thinking about waiting for the new CX5 and getting out of this CX-60.

@@desmondramruthan5469 - Yup spoken to Mazda many times. They seem to be quite shady about these issues. Eventually after complaining a few times and after driving the car they admitted its too bouncy and replaced the rear shocks. It did feel slightly better but still very bad. Recently sent the car in for the Sticky steering issue and does seem a bit more stable on the road now. I would say to anyone interested, please go and drive the car on a bumpy road before you decide you want the car. It is possible the Takumi has all the upgraded bits on it otherwise would feel awful on the road with that much power / Torque and extra weight. I need to go and drive it.

Two very different cars targeting two different markets. If you are more outdoors inclined and will use the car as such the Outback is definitely the choice by far. It is also a bit more thirsty though. If you are a city slicker, the interior and styling (and sweet sounding 6 cylinder of course) of the Mazda would be the pick. I enjoy the outdoors so the Mazda would not do.

Well did Mazda SA address the issues of the stiff suspension, harsh ride and transmission calibration that plagued Australian reviewers? Otherwise this looks the part and at a huge discount or used will be a brilliant buy. Rather this than a Honda CRV with a 1.5l turbo 4 cylinder CVT for 1 million.

How's reliability on that diesel motor as Mazda are not known for reliable diesels? From a petrol CX5 owner
@memo313media
@memo313media 2 ай бұрын
Not really, if you study the history of diesel engines you'll understand few years back engines had to be modified before production due to emission laws. So most diesel engines suffered hence most manufacturer's stopped producing diesel. With Mazda they can be cleaned from carbon built up most can't because they used too much plastic around the engine and replacement is expensive

R1m for this is pretty cheap considering the sea of plastic that is the Tiguan is also about the same after options. Regarding the whole touchscreen stuff, I somewhat disagree with your take on this, yes like you I agree that not everything needs to be built into the screen, especially AC controls but trying to use for example car play on a Mazda is a real pain, don't even get me started on using Waze and trying to quickly click on something. Mazda while trying not to make us depend on the screen have made interacting with the car not very intuitive and a real pain!

R1m price was Craig Roberts nit picking on every feature. Like you get a blank where the seat warmer button would've been, only get seat ventilation. This car would be about R1.4m with everything including the high output inline 6 petrol. That's what they'll charge with CX80. Regarding touchscreen, it is touch on carplay and android auto.
