I've changed to a full Lextek exhaust system on the Suzuki GSX-S1000 GX and had it mapped by Steve Jordan Motorcycles. The question is how much difference has it made to the ride of the bike?

With the Euro 5 gubbins a remap is practically a must do. After coming from a MT10 to the S1000r i was well disappointed with the low down pull and slow speed hunting and surging . The remap has transformed the bike , absolute chalk and cheese from the original map. Makes the perfect start to a Sunday when these videos drop,top work Chops!👍

They are already starting to crap up the 890cc class. MT CP3 has a nasty bog in 2nd gear. Surprisingly enough, now the A/F is far too rich for most of the revs at WOT. Makes zero sense from an emissions compliance perspective.

Love your videos, few comments sent with good intentions... What happens in the cylinders is a burn not explosion. This is important as an explosion has an uncontrolled flame front and would be called "pre-ignition" or "detination" CATs dont filter, they convert, oxidise and breakdown. "Filter" implies something stays in them by design, this isnt the case, exhaust gas contents are converted. Great vid, hope that helps 😊👍

Maybe it's already mentioned but regarding the fog building on glasses and visor, use shaving foam. Just apply a small amount, smear it over the glass/visor and clean it off with a soft cloth. Done that myself for many years and it works for much longer than 24 hours. Beside it's almost for free as most of the male population already has it at home already 😉 Nice bike and it sounds good. Recently bought a KTM 890 SMT of the very same reason as your Suzuki, wanted an "do it all" bike that is more on the funny side of riding.

Great to see the bike breathing properly Chops, I have the same thing with my 2024 S1000rr. I have added a SC Project slip on and now I think it needs a Bren Tune Stage 1. Like you said the bike is so held back. Just with a flash I can get 194 to 202bhp and more important 40% more mid range & 20% bottom end. That’s without headers just on stock and slip on. Or do I wait and go for Akrapovic headers Sprint Filter & Bren Tune Stage 1. Very hard to know what to do. So loved this & as always keep up the good work Chops. Hopefully catch up next year 👍🏻

My understanding (from dirt bike days 45 years ago) is a bigger rear tyre will raise the gearing so a larger rear sprocket (or smaller front sprocket will lower it back to give more pull out of corners.) Usually a larger rear is easier to change but either lengthen the chain or move rear wheel forward if possible)

I test rode a Suzuki GX a few weeks ago and it wasn’t a patch on the GT, and I really wanted to like the GX because I’m due to change my GT in May 2025. The GX feels nervous by comparison, probably due to the longer suspension, and also the vibrations through the whole bike are insane and aren’t suitable for long distance touring. Massive vibrations were felt through the seat, tank and footpegs with mirrors vibrating so badly I couldn’t see traffic behind me. Seating position was comfortable enough though. So after comparing it to my GT I decided not to go with a GX.

Im really surprised as the GT is exactly the same bike but with shorter suspension. The vibs should have been exactly the same as the GT!! Certainly the ones through the bike. Perhaps age miles related or a problem with the GX you tested?

0 vibration on my GX, I have it for almost a year now. The only slight vibrations are between 4-4,500 RPM but not more then on any other bike from any brand. Maybe you have ridden a unit with factory problems or some1 messed with the configuration on it.

@@derrickmurphy9859 I sold my Triumph Rocket 3R because I thought it was causing my back pain! But it wasn't. Turns out, apparently, in my case excess sugar inflames the spinal chord by over producing insulin and the subsequent back movement caused the pain. Within a week of a sugar free diet it had gone. Now I regulate sugar intake because like you I like sugar! Merry Christmas:)!!!

Did you consider lowering the front end to put it more on its nose? I do that on all my bikes, typically I raise the forks above the top triple tree about 4mm, that seem to do it. Seems a 200 tire may take away some of the tip in, nimbleness. It makes a difference. I run a Dunlop Q5 in the fronts and the 190 Q5S in the rears on my bikes. The front Q5 is a game changer. What a scalpel/shredder of a front tire... much different profile than the Q5S front tires. Tips in SO fast, which is what I'm after. ✌🏼

Chopsy, get an 'Inversion Table' for the lower back pain. Hang upside down like Batman 😂, people have averted surgeries with this great equipment. Also think about going on Keto diet, all the little aches and pains will vanish. Get a standing desk for work and tall bar table for watching tv.
@Jafmanz

Inversion tables can make it worse. It very much depends on the cause of the sciatic nerve compression. Low back ability is the channel to watch. I've been battling sciatica for a decade. Countless physiotherapy appointments. 3 months of watching that channel and following the training and I'm fully fixed!!!!
