I liked Bert at one time when The Machine story was only a year or two old and I mean THE FIRST round of him telling it, which was a decade ago, not the resurgence of it that happened a few years ago. Does he claim to be a "stand-up comedian"?? I see ppl loading on to attack every Rogan related personality lately, and im suspicious I mean we all know why Joe caught hell in 2020 (election years LOL pretty obvious too. Kind of disappointing really ) over the Covid thing. It was pretty gay Nutless attack.

The fake laughing, he's admitted to doing for shorts / tiktok clips, are insufferable too. I think Tom Segura is a decent comedian and Tom is good friends with Bert... The more people are just calling it like it is with Bert not being funny, the more he seems to be shuffling towards Tom trying to intertwine him into being a comedy duo or something. On the roast of tom brady they even did the damn bit together and the timing was horrendous. Tom needs to cut the failed parachute and cord wrapping around him from Tom so he can pull the emergency chute out and not get dragged down with Tom. I disagree with your evaluation of Kill Tony. The whole show is roasting people who are doing bad stand up comedy. Of course it relies on the people in the audience. That's the whole point of the show! It doesn't mean it's bad as a show. Comedians have good nights and bad nights, and that's usually a result of the audience reaction. Tony is funny, which is actually rare for a Joe Rogan-sphere comic. The problem with Tony now is that he thinks he's a god. His ego is destroying his reputation. Not the fact that he's bad at stand up, which he really isn't. David Lucas is a perfect example of a hyped up comedian that isn't good at comedy, not Tony, although ironically Joe AND Tony are the ones hyping him up.

25:00 onwards... when Marc says there is a price for selling out, he is talking about personal integrity. Joe misses this. When Marc suggests Joe is contributing to the dumbing down of the culture, Joe still misses his point... flash forward to Rogan being the gatekeeper of comedy with a stable/spaceship full of mostly culturally dumbed down lowest common denominator comics... Joe lowered the bar selling out, then purchased that same bar so he could be the final boss of mid tier while the culture he dumbed down eat it up... I don’t think this was some Machiavellian plan, it just happened that way, but it's definitely a cultural phenomenon to behold. There are people like Joe Rogan and Bert K that have figured out a way to use their specific talents optimize their income and opportunities. Maron is simply bent out of shape because he isn’t in the click. I’ve noticed lately that the party is about to wind down because Joe, Normand, Ari, Shane and the Austin crowd are killing it and the resentment is starting to percolate. Good times only can last so long but the jealousy is def lingering just below the surface.

@@kaize666 I've never associated "getting drunk on stage" with Dave. But that's just me. But It's no surprise that Marc, the guy who makes a career complaining about people's success, is going for the top of the food chain for no good reason lol

And I like Marc, he gets serious about comedy without being too pretentious or overly serious, I wished he focused his energy into writing instead of being bitter.

the fact he would have swapped out the butt monkey of comedy for its current golden boy makes me believe he wasn’t lying, bc thats a WAYYYY more controversial statement and if he was playing politics like that dave is way more valuable than bert lmao. at the very least it would just be a really stupid switch up if he was pivoting but i don’t think marc is that stupid. there are other reasons but this is the biggest one. i would much rather bert be upset with me for saying something true about him than have to fight off even just dave chapelle’s fans after saying something like that about him (especially if i just pulled it out of my ass)

Marc Maron has always been salty for not being in the inner circle making that money however he still had a point.

Marc also accused Joe and Bert of being meathead/jock bullies when they were in high school based on them being "jockish" (not jock itch). This was on WTF a LONG time ago, 12+ years ago.

Joe, giving Bert a heads up, implies Joe thinks Bert is a bad comic.
