Same as you I started on a 600cc in fact it was the cbr600rr I loved it. And I've been stuck on 600cc ever since 2007. Ive bounce between kawi and Honda. I think people aren't getting 600's because of influencers kinda like the JDM car scene blew up. Social media influencers are always telling riders to start at a lower cc 400 etc. and honestly if you have half a brain and patience you can start off anywhere. Yes large displacement will be more difficult but not impossible. There's a lot of people telling others what to do when in fact they are figuring it all out themselves in the name of views and ego. Rant over lol

When I was in my late 20s early 30s looking at bikes. I thought I wanted a Zx-6. Looking back on it, if I had gotten a 600cc bike then with little street experience I would have gotten myself killed because even in my early 30s I had no fear at all of getting killed or hurt. Now that I'm over 50, the thought if wrecking and braking collar bones and shoulder blades keeps me from being stupid.

I was riding dirtbikes since I was 12. When I was 20 my 1st streetbike was a Gsxr1000. The ZX10 hadn't come out yet. My 2nd bike was a 07 600RR and I absolutely loved that bike after I changed the gearing. -1,+2 with a 520 kit made it a perfect streetbike. Track days were much more affordable back then. I know ALOT of people who started on 600's. Back in early to mid 2000's they were pretty much beginner bikes besides SV650's and the Ninja 650 but those were considered boring commuter bikes. Hey, here it is 20+ yrs later and I'm still alive. Still love the exhilaration of Inline-4's. I've done alot of stupid things, crashed alot of bikes. But I wasn't stupid enough to kill myself. That's how I learned. Now I own a S1000RR and a Bandit 1250 and I ride almost every day. Still learning. Everyone ride safe and get proper gear because no matter what bike, on the street u just never know...❤

I've experience riding a ZX10R, my friend let me have a test drive on it. It feels good, but from where I live, we dont have long highways to really push that power but we do have a lot of twisty mountains to enjoy, most of the liter bikes here can push up to 2nd gear and its the end of the road. mostly 150-600cc bikes rule our streets. So, I think a resurgence of 600cc in the market is a good thing for us.

I got a bmw k1300r 2009 from a friend who stopped riding. I will be using it for fun riding and comuting. But if I had to get a bike I would look at the mt-07 for versitility and riding characteristics. the cfmoto 450sr definitly interest me because of how it looks and what it offers for the price. But that being said, if I could find a deal on a 600cc or 1000cc sports bike I would definitly consider it.

In California I'm never stuck in trafic becaue I just filter/split through it. At the same time when not filtering I'm always at the edge of a lane so I have an out never in the middle when there are a lot of cars around. I had my brothers 2000 superhalk for six months and it just felt like I never used it's full potential but my 03 R6 I loved it. And now I'm on a 2017 R6 and love it. That being said if I had the money I would consider the the R1 because the liter bikes have all the cool electronics.

The thing with 600’s is that in europe they can be ridden almost everytime with an a3 license, what that means is that you come from at least two more licenses when you are able to ride a 600 so you’re already pretty much an experienced rider that doesn’t want a 110 hp bike but wants a 1000 for almost the same prices. Other than that, 600’s are more track oriented than 1000’s if we talk about the engine, because in street riding you need torque, and 600’s have it very high in the revs contrary to the 1000’s

I'm from PH and imo, 600-800 is the sweet spot for big bikes(we call 400cc up big bikes here because of the law that requires 400cc up to use expressways) started on 100cc then 200cc then restored a vfr400 then jumped to a 2012 zx10r, and sold it after 6mos and replaced it with zx6r and recently bought 450NK from CFmoto. reason I sold it was 1000cc is just too much for the roads here, overheats on the traffic we got and it feels scootery because 1st and 2nd gear is all I need to use around town, there's just no space. The only time you can really get past 200+ kph is for long trips which then hurts my back so not really practical, tried using it on tracks but the tracks here are small too so even on track days, pushing past 220+ is rare. I enjoyed zx6r on tracks here than the zx10. Even the tiny vfr's v4 engine made me smile more. 1000cc are different kind of animals and hopefully I could try one on bigger tracks but here in PH, for me, It's just not it.

If youre alright riding in rain, fog etc then sure. Just remember you need to keep up with maintenance far more with a bike including tires which a set can run 350-500

I would love to own the rsv4 (dream bike) or any 1000cc but full coverage insurance is 200-350€ a month and they cost on avg 25-35k€ used they are like 5-9k cheaper than new. Thats why I stick to like a 600-900cc with around 120hp since thats roughly 150 a month, which is easily doable as student and I can still save up money for trackdays and all

Here in the UK, we love them too, but sadly its just to expensive to own one. I am 22.Been riding for a year on a 08 R6 and had to pay £3k pounds on insurance alone, thats half cost of the bike just for 1 year, and its not even full coverage... In germany you can actually order two different Yamaha R6 versions: The Race and the GYTR; the Race one costs ~14.500€ and the GYTR costs ~21.700€. They look pretty new, but idk if theyre actually new.

I ride naked bikes. Currently on a CLX700 but going to a XSR900 soon. 600s feel very smooth to me but the reason I don't recommend them is most new riders won't execute self control. Most 600s can reach speeds a new rider really are not ready for. A year or two on a 350-400 will prepare them for it in my opinion.

I've only been riding just over 3 years, started on a ER6N, went to a Street Triple 675 now on a Z1000SX. I went bigger because the Triumph was just that little bit small for me, 6ft 16st. The Triumph was definitely more fun and nimble but the Z is better equipped, more comfortable (except for the seat) and with the power and ABS/Traction modes it's safer and easier to ride. 600's are great but I'll keep the 1000's or maybe a 900 naked.

2024 CBR 600RR has all the super bike electronics, and it's up on power (hp). Adjustable front and rear suspension, electronic damper, blipper, tft display, and all the traction control at lean, wheelie, etc. No MSRP yet, but tops 14.5k. If im in the market, there is no way I would choose a liter bike. I paid 21.6 k for my s1k last year. If I had been patient, I would have held out for the NEW CBR and saved $7k💰. 9:06

I know you love your R6's, but it's too track oriented for the street for me. I was the Sales Manager at a Tamaha, Kawasaki & Honda dealership so I could choose which Japanese bike I wanted minus Suzuki, which is OK. This was in 2014. I prefer 600's or 750's to literbikes although you ride my exact dream bike; RSV4 1100 Factory. I'm 37 now, so my new dream bike is the Tuono 1100 Factory. But anyway, the 600RR in black or red. Red looked sweet, but it was the only bike without 100rwhp and it felt weak, smooth & refined, but week. I had ridden plenty of R6's so I knew how they ride. But Kawasaki had just come out with their new 636 in 2013. The ZX came with KIBS (at the time, the best & lightest ABS unit & the CBR's C-ABS weighed like 18lbs more. ZX also came with TC that could be turned off and at the time, KTRC was the best TC on a bike & the others didn't even have it. So for me, the added electronics and extra 37cc's really does make a difference. Have you ever ridden a 2013+ 636? Curious to what you think about them. If you havent ridden one, I urge you to. Would make for a great cideo for you to compare it to your R6 . I also noticed "600's" going up in price. Even though I got my bike at cost + shipping, benefits of working at a dealership, so I paid $11,200 after rebates. Then Kawi knocked the price of the non-ABS to $9,999. Pissed me off. Even though I'm going to try not to sell it, I hated to see my value go down. Now the newer the "600," the slower it is because of Euro 4 and then Euro 5. Top for new sportbike riders I can give... there are many, so I'll try to come up with a new one you haven't heard.. Buy extra wellnuts (for fairings & windscreen) and large cotter pins You have an awesome family, BTW

The money people are paying for used R6's should show the manufacturers that 600s are desired. For example, I lived in Utah and used my liter bike all over the 80mph highways. But now I live in Philly and it is way too crowded for a 1000cc. I got the new ZX-6R out here and it is the PERFECT bike for enjoying both the city and the highway.

I started with ninja 400, and now i ride 2022 gsxs 750, pretty comfortable bike, nice torque/speed.. I’m thinking to get 636 or gsxr1k..

I would like a 1000,but full coverage on it is $3500 ish per year for me, ans a 600 is 1100 ish. So that makes my choice.

Dont forget that America has emmisions requirements too, that are quite different from Euro 5...and Euro 5 is similar to Japanese emmisions requirements...So its getting hard to produce one global model and it will be interesting to see if Honda produces a CBR that either works for both USA, Euro 5 and Japan... Or a seperate "tune" for USA.... If at all.

@@adobomoto sure for older bikes that are ongoing, but when you register to sell a new model or product or even an updated product as a company you also have to jump through hoops as having worked as a Project Manager for Global Marketing has proved, newer Californian regulation that by poxy become a standard for the rest of USA make it especially challenging. Suzuki has hardly updated bikes like the GSX750R for a reason, and Kawasaki may have a different "tune" for the ZX-6R. For others with slow sales on i.e 600's it might not be worth it. Also I looked at importing a bike from UK to USA and I would have had to rebuild it to comply with emissions to be able re-register with the state DMV and comply with emissions regulations that were in some ways stricter than Euro 5. This may be less of an issue on less high performance bikes than on Superports that are lighter on emissions output. I just ended up just buying a 2022 R7 instead and said goodbye to my UK bike.
