One of my favorite characters that I ever played, and groups I ever played with frankly, was a Warforged Artificer in a group full of Warforged in a 3.5 game.

Artificers are a full class, not a subclass. But it only has 4 subclasses.

I love artificers, though I've not yet dabbled with playing to official subclasses. (I've played the master maker and the forge adept subclasses) My friend played the Alchemist, which we rule of cooled a bit to make the potion creation a bit less lengthy and costy. We also ruled it so the elixers remained until consumed, regardless of rests. They had fun with it, despite it being weaker compared to most other subclasses. That character swapped bodies with their current player character (this was intended) but now provide us with potions and recipes to aid us in our quest. :)

I put Alchemist as the "worst", but I really think it's underrated and probably more fun to play than the artillerist.

If we're gonna be iron man we're gonna need a tank missile

That would be Disintegrate but I suppose you can make an explosive and use Catapult. Just remember 5 lbs per spell level max.

I still think Armorer is overrated because everyone wants to play Ironman. Battle Smith is the true powerhouse. Alchemist isn't as bad as it is made out to be but I do think a good augment to it is to give the option to make all existing potions at specified lvls. Make it an infusion that is always on for the Alchemist subclass.

I absolutely agree. The Battle Smith is my personal favorite. I like the idea for the elixirs as well. 👌

For the relevant levels of DnD 100% Battle Smith is the best. Armorer really doesn't get crazy until it gets to level 9, then it just keeps getting more insane as it has really good high level spells as well.

Not a subclass

I assure you, thev Armorer and Alchemist are subclasses for the Artificer. Or is it thr title that is confusing?
