I remember the GI Joe cartoon always pushing the limit of belief ever so slightly. They had ghosts, pit monsters, satanists, gods….but this movie took it went all the way over the line and it did turn a lot of fans off. To this day cobra la causes some of us to cringe. Me? I loved it. I thought it went a bit too far but I still loved it. Cobra La was so fascinating. A prehistoric break away society? Yes please.

This movie puts to shame the live action movies. Hand drawn Animation allows greater freedom of visuals and movement than even the CGI of the live action.

They also lifted sound effects from Star Wars. When Supentor is flying around on his chariot during the battle that allows them to procure the broadcast energy transmitter, you can hear the sound effect of Darth Vader's TIE fighter. You also hear the sound effect of the interior of the Tie Fighter along with Darth Vader breathing. I wish the movie would have had an original score like Transformers did though. Being that they just used the same music from season 3 of Transformers and season 2 of GI Joe it falls a vit short of the theatrical feel and has more of a television special.

G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero (1983), AKA G.I. JOE and the M.A.S.S. Device (5-Part Mini-Series) G.I. JOE: The Revenge of Cobra (1984), AKA ...and the Weather Dominator (5-Part Mini-Series) G.I. JOE: Season I (1985), 55 episodes, kicks off with 5-Part ...and the Pyramid of Darkness G.I. JOE: Season II (1986), 35 (?) new eps., kicks off with 5-Part "Arise Serpentor, Arise" G.I. JOE: The Movie (1987) brand tanks, Hasbro's in house studio doesn't want to foot animation bill with sales in decline, Dic offers to come in and do it for them if Dic gets a sweatheart deal on the profits from the animation -- while Hasbro gets 'free' advertizing. Dic Season I kicks off with an actually half good 5-Part that picks up the plot threads from The Movie and things seem like they might be okay... But the rest of Dic Season I is ... bad... and Season II of Dic is near unwatchable. But technically Dic Season I and II are kinda sorta in the same continuity. A special pack in video tape of one episode of Sgt. Savage would have been a very tangentially connected continuity... if it had gotten a series. P.S. Jinx blindfold thing is supposed to make her Ninja powers remind you of Luke putting down his blast shield to more in touch with the force.

I love Transformers and I like GI Joe cartoon. However that GI Joe theme song/music is bad ass!!! I tend to like GI Joe The Movie a little more than Transformers The Movie🔥🔥🔥🔥

Do these guys not understand that this is a action adventure cartoon for 8 year olds and ya know wasn’t written buy like Stanley Kubrick and directed by James Cameron the way there just completely nit picking it apart and pointing out every little thing that doesn’t make sense or is silly I don’t think they do……these guys think there like really witty and smart and funny wow 😂 you completely picked apart every plot hole in a children’s cartoon from the 80s bravo 😂 there talking about this movies plot like if it happened in real life
