What a game! So rich in content that it could go right into a chess book as an exercise for tactics! When you switched to computer analysis, I paused the video and spent quite a while to think on my own, then compared with the silicone monster's ideas. It was an exercise in humility because I missed a lot (ex. when about to trap white's queen, I saw Bh6 but was blind to winning the f4 bishop) , nevertheless it was a well spent time. A minor remark about the stalemate finish motive: it was the fastest way to win, but I expected for you to go all the way in. I mean when white had b5 the only move, you could have taken axb5 and promote first. I admit, it's a bit sadistic to let your opponent to make a queen, just to be check-mated the next move.

I like your materials a lot. Very educative. For me crucial thing about your chess footages is that often you find yourself in a position where other (and by other I mean better - no offense) chess youtubers know the next move by heart and it's hard for them to actually explain why THIS is the move. I think you benefit from that because you are actually going through you thought process, explaining what you see on the board. Sometimes even though you are not sure you assume THIS might be the move because of the process of elimination or whatever. I really like it and I think many players like me can benefit from that. I am also grinding Caro as black and Viena as white so what you do is even more to my liking. On top of that I am constantly learning English and British is the accent I love to listen to so this is kind of a cherry on top. Keep up doing what you're doing and I hope you'll claim that golden YT button one day.

Great video Alex. I was really looking forward to watching you fight your way back into the game, using your magic, but then he hung his Knight! Why didn't your opponent just take the Rook? Is that an obvious exchange or am I missing something? You finished strong trapping their Queen. And maybe your pièce de résistance was freezing out their King at the end and creating a pass pawn. You redeemed yourself from the so-so start! Please do a Caro Kann course.

How do you find the bird? Always weirded me out tbh. An entire Caro video would be literally hours long so I'm not entirely sure on that one 😅

Unfortunate that you missed Qc7 twice, it's a much more natural square for the queen in the caro than e5, but I'm sure you'll never miss it again after that haha. Great find on the queen trap tactic to save the game though!

I'd love an indepth caro kann series. But, also from white's side of the board. I've met (as black) and tried (as white) the move 4. f4, forming a triangle of pawns in the centre. What should black do about this? It seems to make it harder for black to win the centre. Thanks for your videos, they're excellent.
