THANK YOU for taking the perspective of someone who has to actually live with (and pay for) a car. This became one of my favourite channels. Your well thought out takes (and your cinematography!) put a lot of bigger and "more" professional channels and outlets to shame. I live in germany, so the market and the models are often different, but i still prefer you to all the local channels - simply because there's so much good information in your videos. So, thanks again and good luck for 2019!

@tobias_dahlberg4 жыл бұрын
@@yosefm170 I know right? It's strange. Everyone in the US complains about European cars and here they seem quite reliable whereas the American cars we get are very unreliable. It's like the exported cars are less reliable for some reason. I drive a 3 series BMW, it's coming up on 7 years old and has never had a single issue whatsoever, I have only done regular maintenance.
@TheAlneix4 жыл бұрын
@@tobias_dahlberg thats because your average american car buyer does not do the required preventive and normal maintenance on German cars , so they end up prematurely failing
@tobias_dahlberg4 жыл бұрын
@@TheAlneix I guess so. It may be more expensive than your run of the mill Honda or Toyota to maintain but if you do maintain it properly, they do seem to last a very long time. But if you neglect the car's needs, it'll of course fail. Whereas a Toyota or Honda would be more okay with neglected maintanence (although not happy). BMW makes some of the best engines around, many of them bullet proof. As long as you don't go for any of the crazy V12/V10/V8 options that are very expensive to maintain, they seem to last a long time. My 3-series has the 2 liter turbodiesel engine which at its launch had one major issue, timing chain guides. It was fixed in 2012 and as my car is a 2014 it is not affected. Other than that, these engines are bullet proof as long as you take care of them. I would even change the engine oil a little more often than what the service intervals say, and that could make it last even longer.

I'm still surprised you (and other reviewers) consistently leave out the Yaris iA (with a manual only since it only has 109 hp). That said, your channel is refreshingly honest and straightforward, so I will gladly continue to subscribe.

One thing I noticed about some of the comments and vehicles in the video regarding the sunroof is that yes, the sunroof takes a few inches of headroom for us taller guys (I’m 6’7) the problem is if you want the higher trimmed vehicle (Mazda 3 gt, 6 signature, CX-5 gt, Durango r/t, Gran Cherokee limited, Lexus RX 350 f sport series 3 etc) they all come with a sunroof standard AND THERES NO OPTION TO REMOVE THEM. So I call the respective dealer if it’s possible to add a sunroof delete option...no one knows, or they just say too bad. 👍 gg, good job, and this is why it’s so hard for me to upgrade from my 12 terrain (POS by the way)

Great video and hope this year is better for everyone than the last, two notes though. The Avalon while great seems to have a much lower head space than previous. I had to lean the seat quite a ways back just to keep my head from running on the padded roof, and yes it had a sun roof which could have been the issue but the vehicle was super nice and drove great. Other note is the pasifica...while you mentioned people go for the Honda or Toyota for brand recognition, it's also for reliability, as it's already had some electrical and transmission issues (even though the oddessy has also seen some bad recalls as well). Even so it is a step above in terms of both of those vans imo as well and if you have a good warranty there isn't much to worry about on that front

Hi Savagegeese Happy New Year, great vid, thank you. Can you compare Honda Civic SI, new Honda Accord and Acura TLX with SH-AWD, and write some pros and cons of each car, and what is the best drivers car from those 3 cars? And do you think SH-AWD make such a great difference?

Amen to that esé. The majority of people that own these monstrosities cannot drive worth a piss and rarely use it for its intended purpose. I really would love to see cars, hatchbacks and station wagons take over again.

@1betterthanyou1 Oh you get me wrong on so many levels! 1 I like SUVs but when they were real SUVs, I like Broncos, Wagoneers, K5s, 4Runners, Cherokees, Typhoons, LM002s... heck I even like the first Hummer... 2 The main difference is that before they weren't for everybody, you got a SUV if you really needed a SUV, it wasn't a stupid trend for everybody, there was a selection and that's one of the reason why I hate modern SUVs. 3 The SUVs are dangerous to other cars, to pedestrians, to the environment and even to their owners, we're in 2019 we should have learned something, so owning a SUV, just to follow a trend, it's a pretty way to say "Hey! I'm an irresponsible and egoistical person!" 4 The modern SUVs trend is so ubiquitous that all the brands, like little brainless children are screamin' "Why he has a SUV? I want a SUV too!"... so you see brands that are raping their essence to make something that they never made... Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Jaguar... on the inside maybe they are different from the soccer mom SUV but from the outiside they are the same obscene pimple full of green pus. 5 Take the Lamborghini LM002 and the Lamborghini Urus... it's like make a comparison between a lumberjack and an eunuch dressed like a lumberjack, I don't care if he looks like a lumberjack, he's still an eunuch, it's still a farce! 6 I don't want to kill anybody... My message is toward the "car"... even if you take my message word for word, it's clear that it means to burn them in the factories while blastin' the Red Dawn score by Basil Poledouris and waving the famous yellow flag with the rattlesnake... (the G flag!)! Ah! Ah! Ah!

@kokakoliah True, but station wagons are cooler in my humble opinion. I may be a tad bias since I own a 58 Nomad.

Very good list and arguments for each choice. Glad you speak from first hand experience and not just copy press releases like so many others. Did not realise you do these videos full time now. I rember you saying way back that you still had a dayjob. But good for us that you focus on your art. Thanks for giving Jakub and Yuri so much money for their shots, so I expect they will do supercar ownership reviews from now on.

I always wonder how well most of these newer cars will stand the test of time. Youd think with modern technology the life expectancy would be easily over 200k maybe even 300k assuming the car is well maintained but it seems like cars nowadays are just getting worse and worse. I wouldnt even want to buy a new modern car these days. My 02 wrx has a bit over 200k, which is stock aside from a few things ive replaced/upgraded over the years and its still going strong, hits target 13psi, shifts and drives great too, best and most fun car ive ever owned. If subaru ever released a limited reman of their older models, i would not hesitate to buy a bugeye wrx wagon or forester xt. But the same goes for all other makes and models too, when people say cars arent made like used to be, they tend to be right.

Geese, it sounds like you have a lot of problems with the Honda dealers in your area . And that guts me because my first car is a Honda Jazz and that cute little hatch has opened my eyes to cars and the people who love em. I hope that gets sorted out so you can see some of the newer Hondas - taking nothing away from your S2000!

Hold on, the GT350 doesn't make the cut because you hear people blow the motor? was this the section where you only considered cars over $65,000?? an 18 Mustang GT is better than the GT350 anyways and costs much less. Sorry that it doesn't have quite as much horsepower for as hellcat or zl1 1le, but for the price you pay, you can add power and still be under those budgets.

I don't think Savage has reviewed a 2018/19 Mustang GT. Hopefully he can get us a review of a GT PP2 or Bullitt/PP1 manual sometime soon.

I agree with your list mostly. Surprised there were no Porsche cars. Out of many youtube car channels, your video production is among the best production. I really like the undercarriage views and down to basics discussion bringing up points that no one else does.
