Honestly, I’ve only spent more than $50 on a book once. I’m actually grateful to see a channel like yours that is about hunting on a budget. The biggest books in my collection are only mine because I got them off the racks as a kid and somehow held onto them. Please keep doing what you do (the first comic I ever bought in a comic shop was ASM 300 when it was the newest Spidy issue). It’s nice to see a channel by someone who frets over $75 rather than dropping thousands of dollars on entire collections like it’s nothing.

I've spent over $1000 only a couple times ever amd only in the last couple years. All the stuff I bought late 80s when I was a kid I still have. Just now getting some odd stuff I never had back then and upgrading some of my reader copies of old stuff. Not on a mega budget like some buyers, so have to be really picky and any way you look at it, anything above a couple hundred is still big money to the average person. Happy hunting to all!

There will always be people who have more money and who can afford this multi thousand Dollar books. So what? You have a family and I am sure they are your priority and everything else is secondary. The biggest book can‘t compete with the love and respect of your family. Please stay as you are I enjoy your content enormously. This was another great and very entertaining video with a lot of great books.

LMC….sir, I’ve been collecting for 35 years and had a blog for a while. I’ve never spent more than $200 for any comic in my life. And preached budget speculation and collecting. So don’t ever feel little. You never know what these other buyers bank accounts look like, if they are using loans to buy these books. Stay true to yourself, take pride in your financial standing and know that at the end of the day you are enjoying this hobby. There is NO end to collecting. You can collect forever and never be done! I once spent $60 on a comic, my biggest single purchase; everyone collects differently Mike and for most of us it's patience, waiting for what we need at the price we can afford. Frankly, if I had $5000 to spend I would not blow it all on just one comic, I'd buy a lot of comics to fill a lot of holes in the collection. Jim Starlin is an awesome talent and Al Milgrom is so prolific as a writer, penciller and inker, both great professionals. Cap 109 and the first appearance of Deadman are fantastic choices. I can see Deadman working in a future DC film too, his ability lends itself to interesting plots and he has a sarcastic, sometimes self-deprecating tone which the right actor could really make something of. Glad you enjoyed the show so much, pure comics shows without the Funko and anime and all the other stuff that's attached itself to these events in the last couple of decades are my favourites.

Never apologize about buying non high grade books. I'm older now and can afford very nice books (I'm currently working on an X-Men run). I still have tons of books that I bought in the late 70's and early 80's when I was super young. Those will always be great memories of collecting back when all the shows I went to were only comics. Hey Mike, super video. Your enthusiasm from being at a great show like this is infectious. The funniest part is your story of existential crisis while watching the heavy hitters make purchases, and how it was somewhat resolved by your internet fame. But, you deserve all the fame. Your videos, like this one are honest takes, well-presented with enthusiasm and knowledge of the subject ( with a dash of humor thrown in ). You do have an audience because, as you say, most collectors have a budget that is not in the thousands, and try to get deals somehow. It's human nature. Happy hunting, and best of luck with your channel.
