30 Days to the best coffee ever.
1. Reduce coffee intake by 10% volume everyday for 10 days to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
2. Abstain from drinking coffee or any caffeine beverages for an additional 20 days.
3. ON Day 3-drink one small black coffee(can add cream) around 60-90 minutes after awakening. Take 2 capsules of Magtein(Mag L-threonate)
This cup of coffee will be awesome.
Coffee has numerous potential benefits, thanks to its rich mix of bioactive compounds like caffeine, antioxidants, and other nutrients.
1. Enhanced Cognitive Performance
Improved Focus and Alertness: Caffeine, a central nervous system stimulant, helps combat fatigue and increase alertness.
2. Physical Performance
Increased Energy: Caffeine can improve endurance and performance by increasing adrenaline levels and releasing fatty acids from fat tissues.
Reduced Fatigue: Regular, moderate consumption may help athletes recover and perform better.
3. Protective Effects on the Brain
Reduced Risk of Neurodegenerative Diseases: Lower risk of Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and cognitive decline.
Glymphatic System Support: Emerging evidence suggests coffee might enhance glymphatic clearance, which helps eliminate toxins from the brain.
4. Metabolic and Cardiovascular Benefits
Reduced Risk of Type 2 Diabetes
Moderate coffee consumption is linked to a reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases, including stroke.
Weight Management: Coffee may boost metabolism and fat oxidation.
5. Antioxidant Properties
Coffee is rich in antioxidants like chlorogenic acid and polyphenols, which help combat oxidative stress and inflammation.
6. Liver Health
Studies suggest coffee may lower the risk of liver diseases such as fatty liver, fibrosis, and even liver cancer.
7. Mood Enhancement
Coffee may reduce the risk of depression and improve overall mood by influencing neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin.
8. Longevity
9. Digestive Health
Coffee stimulates digestion and bowel movement in some people, potentially helping with constipation.
10. Nutritional Value
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin): Helps with energy production.
Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid): Supports metabolism.
Manganese and Potassium: Contribute to bone and muscle health.
For most people, coffee addiction is relatively mild and does not lead to severe health risks if consumed in moderation (e.g., up to 400 mg of caffeine per day, roughly 4 cups of coffee). However, excessive consumption can cause:
**Insomnia
**Anxiety or jitters
**Heart palpitations
**Dependency, making withdrawal challenging
1.Adenosine’s Role: Adenosine is a neurotransmitter that builds up during the day and promotes feelings of relaxation and sleepiness.
Caffeine's Action: Caffeine binds to adenosine receptors, especially in the brain, preventing adenosine from exerting its calming effects. This creates a state of alertness and wakefulness.
Overuse Consequences: With regular caffeine consumption, the brain compensates by increasing adenosine receptor density, making the body more sensitive to adenosine when caffeine is absent (leading to withdrawal symptoms like fatigue and headaches).
2. Dopamine System Enhancement
Caffeine indirectly influences the dopamine system, which regulates reward, pleasure, and motivation:
By blocking adenosine, caffeine increases dopamine receptor availability and amplifies the effects of dopamine signaling.
This mild increase in dopamine activity is similar to, though much weaker than, the effects of addictive drugs like cocaine or amphetamines.
3. Glutamate and Other Neurotransmitters
Stimulates the release of glutamate, an excitatory neurotransmitter involved in memory and learning, further enhancing its stimulating effects.
Caffeine increases norepinephrine levels, leading to heightened alertness and energy.
Signs and Symptoms of Coffee Withdrawal
Headache
Fatigue and Low Energy
Irritability and Mood Changes
Withdrawal can lead to increased feelings of irritability, frustration, or even mild depression.
Difficulty Concentrating
Anxiety
Depression or Low Mood
Muscle Pain or Stiffness
Nausea or Stomach Upset
Cravings

I'm 66 and have been drinking coffee since I was 6. 1-2 cups per day. My son started drinking coffee when he was 6 and it eliminated all "ADHD" symptoms and certainly helped him focus in school. None of my family members have ever had dementia, Alzheimers or other health issues. Gave up coffee for a year and that 1st cup was AMAZING.

I love pour over coffees. Coffee has been a staple for many years. I have been on the edge of addiction for a long time. It affects my mood substantially in a good way. I understand coffee dehydrates water from the body. And I’ve heard it depletes magnesium as well. I stay away from KCup coffees in regarding the micro plastics. Most importantly,, The L-Theonate magnesium has a massive calming effect on me. So much that my heart almost slows to scary levels of what feels like nothing. But L-theonate is new to my body as well. Glycinate I take somewhat regularly. Thx for the videos. Always enjoy.

When not feeling well, that first cup of coffee makes me feel so much better, almost well...Why is that? Started drinking coffee at 6 months old (yes in certain countries mothers add a little coffee to babys milk!)...At five allowed regular milk with coffee (as opposed to coffee and a little milk or cream) and at 9 was allowed to drink it black (with sugar)...From then on I was the coffee maker in the morning...! I used to get headaches if not drinking it first thing in the morning (as when Sunday fasting -religious practice at home) but that went away when I went from 118 to 124 lbs., why ...? Anyway...Dr. Sung, great video...thanks! I shared it with my relatives!

@@kenycharles8600 I more meant like 'extra'. I know you often need multiple capsules and that the actual amount of magnesium differs per type. I normaly take only one capsule of threonate (its gonna be too expensive taking three a day), because I also take glycinate (as basic magnesium) and taurate. I need it more for healthy heart function than for my brain or relaxation as the only stress in my life is caused by myself and I try to keep that out. Im just finishing my threonate and then its only the other two or another because I dont see significant change even when taking full dose threonate.

My overall health is much better when I am drinking coffee daily. It was not so hard to quit, but my liver was less pleased. Also I have ADHD which I am told is why it has a relaxing and not stimulating effect on me. I can easily drink extremely strong coffee right before going to sleep. I would be curious to learn more about that connection. I would not do this particular challenge because I think topical magnesium is better due to the body not absorbing too much or too little that way, and because I find coffee as the easiest liver tonic for me and I have decided not to quit or limit coffee for that reason. The negative effects of coffee are probably just cost, because non-organic coffee is heavily sprayed with toxic pesticides, so I always go with Organic. Also teeth displeased with coffee, but I swish some xylitol after drinking to clear it up.

This has been a very interesting video! I have one cup of coffee a day and it varies when I have it. Sometimes it’s a couple hours after I’ve gotten up and sometimes it can be after lunch if I’m just so busy I haven’t had time. I really enjoy that calm feeling that I have after the cup. Are used to drink 2 to 3 that even 4 cups a day when I was working a night shift, but that was really leaving me frazzled and very counterproductive. I quit for a couple of years and just switched over to organic green tea. I enjoy that very much too. I also enjoy nettle tea but it doesn’t have any caffeine. Anyway, if I miss a day it’s no big deal, but generally I don’t like to miss a day! :-)

Should never stop drinking coffee and one can get coffee that is decaffeinated and decaf coffee has a very significant quantity of anti-oxidants (more than green tea per volume). This is true, if the coffee isn’t a dark roast (dark roasting destroys antioxidants) and/or is not polluted with dairy. Dairy reduces the antioxidants very significantly. Having coffee dark and with dairy pretty much kills the antioxidants. Starbucks is the worst coffee from an antioxidant standpoint. Decaffeination, if water based, doesn’t destroy antioxidants.

Interesting In PuertoRico they drink coffee all say almost every half hour and strong and black my father and my grand parents would drink a cup of coffee before going to bed ans slept soundly they said it made them sleepy and sleep better the opposite of me when I was young it would hype me up almost like a paranoid high on cocaine feel but as I got older started coffee again and for some reason when I started to drink coffee again and at night come to notice it made me sleep better that's weird cause I know how coffee is considered a stimulant but the effect now for at my age 56 it relaxes me. Maybe it's the change of the body as you age.
