Anyone else have trouble with winter fasting? I can handle the other seasons, but right now it's hard to be outdoors for very long, and sunlight is minimal. My body says "no fasting" right now, and I have learned to respect that.

I'm doing my first longer fast currently in Southern Norway. There is only sun between 8.15 and 16:00 currently. But it has been mild for the season. Real frost (freezing temps all day and night) not an issue before mate next week. Currently on day 5.

Just be careful you don't run out of electrolytes or B vitamins with extended fasts... B1 is completely gone in 2 weeks for instance

I just broke my 48 hours fast I take electrolytes but I still get leg cramps even when I’m not fasting. I’m feeling great especially fasted state .

Currently on day 5 of Fasting with moderate physical activity. (Just felt natural transitioning after an active week of Keto OMAD spending 4000 calories a day). Was in heavy ketosis before entering fast(tested urine strip) Been supplementing somewhat heavily tho... Electrolyte pills + extra sodium and potassium. Vitamins and minerals in morning: (B-complex, Magnesium, high dose D-Vitamin, Zinc, K2 and Vit-C). But I've also done high dose high quality cod liver oil, nutritional yeast and fermented herb lactic propiotic. Also apple cider vinegar with lemon juice in morning, some herbal teas every day, and coffee one time. Will these have kept me out of true fasting I wonder?

Fasting is not what you people think it is. 24hr ok, longer should only be for really sick needing to reset or heal as last result. Fasting uses muscles and breaks down muscle into amino acids, yes it slightly increases growth hormones to help break fat dow to be used for ketones, but it does it the muscle. It also will hurt you metabolism rate. Starvation fear the body prepares for.
