Eric, for me this is one of the best videos you’ve ever done, absolutely awesome. I tried this drill at the range today and couldn’t believe how well I was hitting the ball. Thank you so much, I also combine it with the “twist away” video 👌 brilliant 😊🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Eric, this video is why I love KZbin. I’ve been suffering with a chicken wing and it’s all because I extend my right hip and/or stand up through impact. You helped me identify the causes and now I am swinging through the ball and absolutely crushing it - with all my clubs. You are the best!!!

Eric. You've become my hero. There are many golf tips online. However, very few address the cause. This covered, both the cause and the solution. I tried this today with outstanding results. Thank you so much.

Boy - you must be watching my Golftec lessons because this is EXACTLY what I do wrong almost every swing and I can't seem to fix it. I "feel" like it's fixed and then when I watch the video, I'm still doing that exact pelvis forward/stand up move. Thanks for this drill and I will be using it tomorrow at the range. Great channel!

Applied this drill at the range and this helps me rotate even better. Contact is better than before. By far my best drill for early extension.

This tip makes sense as it keeps the body more stable, but then when I went to Pebble for the tournament this year and filmed a lot of these guys and watched them back a lot of them were lifting their back heel going into impact. JT, Theegala, Scheffler just to name a few.

For sure! Lots of top players have feet moving all over the place! Can help for power.....but if us mere mortals who aren't as good nor do we practice nearly as much.....we may want to keep things more "simple"

Hi Eric, great tutorial...i usually have a tendency to hit pull hooks.... After this drill, i was hitting a straight push, do you recommend i just line up left of the target and let the ball push straight into the target?
@CogornoGolf8 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yeah thats an option----its really hard to give you a good answer here without me seeing your swing (why its happening) and knowing more info. But yeah thats one option...or figure out WHY thats happening and adjust. Send swings to www.cogornogolf.com should be easy to solve

Great as always. Curious, while doing this I continue to chunk it a bit. Am I just releasing my wrist flexion too soon? Thank you!
@CogornoGolf8 ай бұрын
Could be! Make sure the ball position is back 1-2 balls from normal. BC of closed stance the low point moves back. So move ball back slightly and make sure you get trail shoulder forward enough. If youre already doing those two then yes I would look at wrist angles

How does this work for driver. also how do you eing this back to a regular swing. the shots with left foot back work but I cant get this feel with my feet parallel to target
@CogornoGolf8 ай бұрын
Hey 1. For driver you can do similar things but obvious the setup will be different with driver (ball more forward/more tilt) and head more back in downswing. I go over those differences here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKLSqZt3ltmpZ7c 2. You can either just play like this or slowly move the foot back in toward normal and see what works best!

Eric, thoughts on pre-setting closed hips at setup?
@CogornoGolf8 ай бұрын
I'm OK with that.....not for everyone but can help some for sure get more backswing turn/depth
@steve450582 ай бұрын
How do I start incorporating this with my normal stance? I can hit it flush like this but it’s not the same with my normal stance
@CogornoGolf2 ай бұрын
Hey Steve! You have some options 1. Just play like this 2. Slowly work the trail foot back in closer to square (inch by inch) and find where you perform best There are NO RULES.....do what performs the best.
@kalikimaka18 ай бұрын
Is there a concern with pushing that trail hip back too soon? I've seen you discuss how the backswing should start without much hip turn, so I assume we want to keep that step but just get the feel of pushing that hip back a lot late.

From down the line it looks like the ball is starting either directly on your target of a little left of it so they would miss left. So if I did this drill and wanted to hit target I would just need to aim right? Or were looks deceiving and the ball was starting right of the target?
@CogornoGolf8 ай бұрын
Hey! Could be---I dont remember these specific ones to be honest (we filmed this about 30 days ago).....but I'm definitely capable of a pull hook ;) Of course the idea would be to start every so slightly right of target and curve slightly back. You should be able to do that with this drill. Can shift some other elements as needed (ball position, shoulder alignment, swing path, etc)

Thanks!@@CogornoGolf

Is teeing up the ball part of the drill, or did you do that for another reason? Just curious if it is important to doing the drill correctly?
@CogornoGolf8 ай бұрын
Hey! Good question.....not part of the drill. We do that when on grass so I can keep hitting from the same exact spot so we dont need to move the cameras. If not I would be taking divots and need to keep moving back and it would throw off the camera angles!
@timbirk85288 ай бұрын
Eric-is this why Scotty Scheffler slides his right foot away from the ball on the downswing, it keeps his right hip back as he comes through?
@CogornoGolf8 ай бұрын
Part of it for sure! Trail foot really pushing into the ground back and away from the target....his just actually does slide :) Def helps keep the trail hip more back as it rotates through!
@DavidHintongolf8 ай бұрын

Worst drill ever 😂😂😂😂 This is a good drill, remember drills are all about feeling something not necessarily putting it in to your actual swing, just feeling like you do… It makes sense to me, that’s the beauty of golf, got to find what works for you and then practice practice practice
