Just found your video this evening and tried it immediately. My carrots were very thick, so I sliced them crosswise into disks, steamed them, and then glazed them with butter, turbinado sugar (have run out of brown sugar) and mustard. They were just as yummy as you said they would be! I think they will make their first appearance at a family gathering for Easter. Thank you, Nica, for such an easy, tasty recipe.

Wow! So glad to have tried this. I made my wife a dinner and decided to try this. However, I had asperagus ready to go as a back up since this seemed to simple and, well....... brown suger, butter, and mustard and done? Happy to report, the asperagus will be used another day and both the wife and 19 year old son loved it. Thank you for sharing Nica!

I cooked this a few days ago for my mom and myself after buying a big bag of carrots. I don't even like carrots but the price was good. Anyway, we both agreed they tast(ed?) great--a sugary-tang with that converted that raw carrot taste into something deliciously different. I was worried that using jalapeno mustard (it's all I had) would screw things up but I barely noticed the spiciness. My mom asked me to make them again tonight to accompany something she's making.
@davismavis2834 Жыл бұрын
I'm about to do the same and purposely use a jalapeno mustard

No water needed. Cut Julienne with a little of your chosen butter, margarine or olive oil, use a lid to create steam, gentle heat, add your choice or herb, honey, sugar, whatever, stir and check until cooked enough for your taste.

sure. It'll change the taste slightly (brown sugar is more molasses-y) but it will still glaze nicely.

Nica Waters oh ok. thank youuuu. btw, can mustard oil be used??
@NicaWaters4 жыл бұрын
@@ariyanarahman5061 wow now my head is veering to a totally different flavor profile. Mustard oil, black sesame seeds, maybe coconut sugar? It would be different for sure. The butter has dairy solids in it which help with the glazing aspect. Try it and let me know how it turns out!
