Yup. Enjoy your tech videos and your trick theory videos. The flying videos, not so much. Not because you are not a great pilot, but because YT has reached the saturation point of freestyle videos. As far as flying goes, I enjoy the ads where dude is flowing thru a bowling alley or bar. Those are a treat.

yes please more tech videos... small thoughts 1- the funfly lipo I tried didn't last long and I never got this tattu model again 2- to compare to an flat arm weight you need to add to the tube the extra screws and tape on the scale 3- tubular may be stronger than flat in lab tests but fpv crashes have a very specific way of damaging arms which is collision on a specific point of the arm. lab test will usually just bend the arm until it breaks. 4- you need a 1450kv for a 6S and 6" setup and indeed it is not going easy to find.

Wow, jaw dropped when I heard the AUW...with GP8! Amazing.

Less is more! One of my earlier Tubular Quads was >650g AUW, and the ~10% reduction in weight is quite noticeable and very pleasant

You are on to something man! I feel like from a physics standpoint tubes make more sense in a ton of ways. I’d be really interested in that frame once u feel good with it.

This was great. I have been considering using round arms for awhile but didn't know the techno babble to describe why i thought they would be lighter and stronger--so thanks for that! You earned this sub and 👍

What about using 2 long tubes notched and joined in the center instead of 4 tubes. That would take some of the stress off of the plates. Great job, looking forward to seeing your videos.

Thanks! The Tubular Quad V1 used what you were describing and the arms broke at the notch. To more evenly distribute the stresses, attaching the arm by wrapping the arm, bottom plate, and middle plate in carbon tow seems to work quite well - This is what a lot of lightweight tubular LOS builds do. The disadvantage to using notched tubes and/or attaching with carbon tow is that you can't easily replace an arm; That is why my current design uses separate arms

Love it. I've been wanting to do something like this with the rounded arms. Thx for sharing. My fav freestyle rig is a Five33 switchback frame with the long arms. It's true X, light weight and I also run 6in bi-blade props. Pretty similar to what your flying I think. I got something called the "baby turtle" for recording. It's a 20x20 board that records onboard 1080p60 and sends an analog signal to the vtx. Unfortunately they don't make it any more. My philosophy is if I want a heavier quad I'll add more battery. The X frame and light weight makes it handle insane. And it's been almost bulletproof when it comes to durability. On the whole I haven't needed to work on it much. I wore out a set of motors, and replace a bottom plate cause I did something funny. I was showing someone how durable it was... I punched it for about a second.. then disarmed.. My intention was to have it crash on grass. BUT... instead it dropped on concrete from about 120 ft up. It bent a bell. I had it flying in about 10 min with the same bell. Didn't notice the bottom plate was busted till two fly sessions later. LOL the crap we do with our quads is so silly.

Yes wonderful design. A cylinder still has huge drag but much better. The high / low frequency angle is very interesting. Always love your vids. Thanks

If you could get cncmadness to make the frame parts available i think it'd be fun to build.

Bajo mi experiencia, no me convence. Y ya, puestos a comentar, las bipala tampoco, me parece que no son tan impulsivas en freestyle como una tripala. Pero bueno, deoevde del vuelo de cada uno.

Higher cross-sectional moment of inertia increases bending strength, which corresponds to increased durability as long as the material is thick enough to resist crushing (I have yet to crush one of my tubular arms in a crash). 6 inch twin-blades are not quite as responsive as 5 inch triblades, but I am willing to make that sacrifice for the better efficiency, better grip, and effortless feeling of 6 inch twin-blades. It's certainly worth at least a try

I think people are willing to pay a premium for FPV parts, if the claims of improvement can be proven. The unit sales wb less, but the top line makes up for that.
