This is how I make mine too. Sometimes I add nuts or shredded coconut. I've also made it with half the butter and olive or coconut oil. Just for fun one day I made a double batch, added an egg and a little baking powder to make cookies! They turned out great 😊!

Hi do you have to precook the berries or can ypu just put the topping on the berries directly into the oven ?

You don’t have to precook if using fresh berries. But if frozen, I’d recommend making it exactly like I showed.
