Enjoyed this format but the most entertaining thing was James not knowing there are 3 feet in a yard. :) I've never really understood why all the UK-based golf channels I watch talk about distance in yards and not meters. @@ppham Forget categories. The road to lower scores is choosing whichever irons give you the most consistent carry distance. If you aim at the middle of the green, there's almost always 10 yards of room left or right. But 10 yards short usually means a bunker or pitch shot and 50/50 par at best.

The entire line looks great. The 225's are forged like the mp-20 hmb were which is an upgrade from the jpx hot metals. JPX tours and JPX forged are forged but the JPX hot metal and hot metal pro are not. It's great to see a high quality forged iron that also has some forgiveness and tech for gi with a clean look that's not terribly chunky. Mizuno does this best. A lot of high handicappers like to experience a balance of feel and forgiveness. Inability to hold the green is what keeps our handicaps high so we need spin and feel also and not just distance which is often all the gi clubs often do. Would love to see a comparison of these 225s with the Callaway Apex DCB. People who wanted blades used to get the mp-20 but seems like the jpx tours were more popular than the mmc's. The 223 though is a sweet spot for tour level pros and low handicaps. Will be interesting to see mix sets. I could see a lot people playing 7-pw in 223 and maybe 225 for longer clubs 4-6?

Such beautiful clubs but a so annoying modern irons are stupidly strong lofted nowadays. Manufacturers sell 'distance' irons by giving mid/high hcp players an ego boost to say they can hit it as long as low hcp players with traditional lofted irons. 4 irons are now like old 2 irons so iron sets stop at 5i. PWs are lofted like 9 irons so we need more wedges to fill the gaps. One day we'll have pitching wedges lofted like a 7 or 8 iron. Are we all idiots? The old Ping Eye PW was 51 degrees and they were forgiving too.

A great idea to have a high handicapper and having more than the usual 3 or 5 shots, most online reviews are useless for average golfer

Several studies concluded that across all clubs approximately seven yards of distance is sacrificed by wearing your hat backwards.

If you consider these high handicap irons then why is Luke Donald playing a full set of 245’s ? I don’t think he’s a high handicap.

Please put a sticker on the sweet spot and make hits outside the sticker and then see how forgiving they are. Seeing videos of good players tells us nothing. They all can hit all clubs very well. I need to see what a toe or heel shot does. Thanks.

The 225 pro look like Ben Hogan Precision irons 1955/56.. Try and find an original and test them! JK USA

High handicap players should be nowhere near these irons,Mizuno’s own club fitters and website recommend 8 to 14 range. The 225 are so much smaller than the MP20 HMB they are replacing. I’ve gone for 921 Forged and just started again after 25 years but I’ll be 6-10 handicap and they are perfect
