Hard to decide between this one and the Surface 7 Laptop.
@steveshute8359Ай бұрын
Nearly bought one of these but it needs an extra USB port, preferably a USB-C on the right, we are not all students running on batteries. I need ports on the left for a USB hub and a USB hard drive and on the right for USB mouse so nowhere left for power!!! Laptop makers have used using USB-C for power to save money by removing a dedicated power port but not increasing the USB ports to compensate for one becoming the power port. It's just like the 16:10 aspect ratio has seen the demise of 17 inch screens for those of us old pros that don't want to squint at the screen. Also no Thunderbolt4 and lastly the black version is not available on Asus UK website. So close but no cigar...

please try charging it via the type c ports if it works. I watch a video saying charging via the type c port doesn’t work

I really respect your channel and know that you have to be polite what regard to your sponsors, but it really gave me the impression there is no way to get 10 hours of battery out of this Ryzen AI 9 in this laptop. Please, be real with the battery numbers, there are a lot of us who rely on your reviews to make purchasing decisions.

Considering it played back KZbin video for like 7 hours battery life is not great(
@ibraheem1224Ай бұрын
Mate he showed in the video that he only got 7hr 30 mins battery life just running KZbin, which is even worse than last generation Intel laptops (and that's quite a low benchmark lol).

Fair comment - what I would say is this hardware is brand new, and there were significant BIOS/driver updates even during the couple of weeks of my testing. I think we could see this get better over time. Also I would say the youtube video rundown test seemed to impact battery more than just my experience in everyday use. But maybe I should have said 7-9 hours is a reasonable expectation. More testing needed

You can play videos just fine in whisper mode (10w) and with low brightness or 720p probably get 10hr+.

Didnt AMD plan for it to be their biggest release to date? And we get only this and PX13? Sad to see history repeat itself, making good workstations available at least 3-6 months after, and not immediately.

I still feel like ARM is unnecessary when x86 can perform like this. I don't see the point in moving everything over.
