I’m so glad you mentioned Donny cates Venom. Donny cates run was by far one of the best if not the best venom comic runs. he added so much to venom and Eddie Brock’s mythos. He really changed both Eddie and venom from a 1 dimensional character to a full fledged marvel Anti-Hero with an amazing mythos. Also Ryan stegmans art is utter perfection and fits venom so well. I own both venom and king in black omnibuses and couldn’t recommend them enough. Venom by Donny cates is a MUST read if you’re even remotely a venom fan or a marvel fan in general.

Really love all the comic video ideas and I hope you continue to make videos like this. I hate how low views they get but I love watching them. My comic collection is around 150 rn after collecting for about a little over 2 years and I don’t plan on stopping. Keep the recommendations coming!

Thanks so much Coy. Didn’t grow up reading Venom and my only introductions have been through the films, animation and pop culture references. I’ve always wanted to tip my toe in the venom comics but never knew where to start. These recommendations are what I’ve wanted to hopefully help better understand character as it relates to the films. 🙏

I have always been a massive fan of Spider-Man but outside of Venom's appearances in those books I havent delved much into his other outings. This seems like a great place to start so I added these to my Marvel Unlimited library to check out. We need more people reading the comics that these movies are drawing inspiration from. @CoyJandreau I’ve been wanting to get into Venom for awhile now but, I may check these out to just inform myself in the insanity that’s to come from The Last Dance which seems to be more so than even the first two films and I would love not only a how to get into Venom video but a video on some of your favorite Venom stories as well. Also, if you could do a video on how to get into The Incredible Hulk comics as well, that’d be awesome as I’m a huge fan of the character as well as Spider-Man if you wanted to do a how to get into spider man video as well that’d be awesome because, those two characters as well as Venom are some of my all time favorite Marvel characters growing up but, I’ve always been intimidated to jump into the characters as far as comics go because, most of these characters have decades of built in history and as someone new to the source material of these characters, it can be confusing where to start so, if you could get around to making maybe a Spider-Man 101, Hulk 101, and Venom 101 or however you want to call the get started with certain characters videos you do, then that would be awesome.

Sony Marvel movies are absolutely horrible and for simpletons, and also unfortunately the Knull/Carnage stuff in Marvel lately with symbiotes being the most powerful Gods of everything has also been dumb lazy power-creep writing.
