Since there wasn't one for Scarlet/Violet I'll give my rec for it. Clodsire, Gastrodon, Garchomp, Krookodile, Palossand, and Toedscruel. The last one hits pretty hard even if its ability does hold it back, though Mudsdale can be used if that's an issue. I left out Paradox pokemon but Great Tusk/Iron Treads are great options for the last slot if they're allowed.

In Ultra Sun and Moon you can get Marshtomp via island scan on Brooklet Hill on Saturday's, so possibly right before Kiawe's fire trial. Even though I chose Popplio in Ultra Sun I used both Primariana and Swampert together

Seeing as how Mystic didn't include SV (probably because of the DLC being on the way and we don't know how soon the DLC inclusions will be available), I'll put a base SV team here for anyone wanting one. 1- Clodsire (Wooper can be encountered very early after you start exploring), and if Clodsire isn't your style, there's an NPC in Cascaraffa who will trade you a Johtonian Wooper for a Paldean one (also Johtonian Wooper has been shown in the trailers for the DLC) making Quagsire an option. 2- Gastrodon is also a viable option for a Water/Ground type either in place of Quagsire or alongside it. 3- Garchomp, Gible can be found to the west of Cortondo, meaning you can potentially have a baby dragon before the FIRST GYM! 4- Krookodile returns again with his Moxie, Sandile can be found in Asado Desert, though it can be a bit tricky to spot because it hides in the sand with just the top of its body poking out. 5- Former Titan Great Tusk or Iron Treads. A Massive timewarped relative of Donphan that actually makes him a real threat. Great Tusk has better physical defense/attack/HP, while Iron Treads has better Speed and a more diverse Move pool. Both Former Titans will have 30 IVs in every stat when you go to catch them. Side note you only have 1 shot to catch them after the story bit, so save before you begin the fight. And because you can catch the former titans before Area Zero, you can 100% have a Paradox pokemon for an in-game team and no matter what version you have, Donphan's paradox counterparts bring the pain to whoever is in front of them. 6- Dealer's choice. I've already gone over the best ground types in SV, and the remaining ones are Mudsdale, Palossand, Sandaconda, Hippowdon, Camerupt. Whiscash, Dugtrio, Base Donphan, and Toedscruel. I suppose it's possible to get the legendary Ting-Lu before completing the story, but it's a pain in the neck. My personal recommendation is to catch a Teddiursa, and transfer it over to PLA and evolve it into an Ursaluna, then transfer it back.

On Gliscor in Black and White 2, you can find it as a Gliscor in shaking grass on the same route you get Gligar, so you can have it for Drayden

Hey mystic for the longest krookodile, gliscor, and nidoking were all tied for my number one favorites but once ursaluna was created and of course released it ended up becoming my new favorite. Don’t get me wrong the other 3 are still great options for their respective strengths but something about ursaluna that makes me want to have one on my team and make it after the bear from the movie named “open season”

Excadrill is the GOAT and I've loved Golurk since the first time I used it when I was younger but every time I think about using it now its speed is sadly such a turnoff. Claydol is one of the coolest and most underrated Hoenn mons imo and I loved seeing Mamoswine getting so much representation since I actually prefer it to Garchomp in Platinum
