Those coils can cause a lot issues down the road. The coil wires are not shielded enough and can induced voltage in other close by wires. In my case, it was affecting the IBS measuring and evaluation function and O2 sensors readings.

I'll keep that in mind if I have issues down the road!

I’ve been running these coils for about 4 years and have had no issues. I installed these coils when I installed new Index 12 injectors (replaced the stock Index 5 injectors) along with new plugs.

I have these coils on my N54. I have the MSD81 so wasn’t worried about mosfets. But my tuner hates them. Swears they are the cause of a lot of problems like cracking spark plugs. I haven’t had any issues with mine but something to know. He straight up told me to get ride of the PR coils right after I bought them and use eldor.

I've not had that issue, I also do use dielectric grease inside the boot so the lilely hood of the plug cracking is low.

i prefer the B58 coil upgrade.. it places coils in stock location, no wires to induce EMF in any other system which can cause DME sensor reading issues. ALso suggestion, if you have a 3d printer, print a clip for the wires to coils and plug that attaches to the high pressure rail line, makes it look factory and neat. and can be made from ABS or PETG. But i'm also kind of doing maintenance in combination with upgrades, like the Bremmen aluminum valve cover, with a VTT PCV upgrade and new high side flapper pipe. ( pretty sure my current setup is leaking pressure into the crank case and causing oil consumption/leaks, cause if i drive and stay at low boost, liek grandma, oil stays put, i get on it, i lose a quart in a week, waitign for ECS to get it in, modified and sent out) and the aluminum mickey mouse flange from Burger, car already has BOV and hard pipe replaced, as well as DCI cone mod, and VRSF catback race exhaust( plan to pickup muffler for this system separately, cause F the drone at my 40 years of age), with a 5' vrsf intercooler, so car has mods already and it has service records for all typical oil leaks being done, but never was PCV looked at or addressed. next upgrade/maintenance mod is going to be the B58 coil upgrade from Midnight Motorsport.

it's strange that would be an issue, I've never had it myself. normally if I do, I would add additional grounds to each coil pack and it cleans any interference up. of course, an old truck from back in the day with my RX7.

@@tony.nextlevelrides i had issues with aftermarket wires on a few cars, my most recent was my SRT4, MSD wires caused EMF backfeed and threw MAP sensor codes and cam signal codes, the Magnetti Blue wires wasn't as bad but intermittent. on my LSx truck same issue with MSD wires, but for injectors factory wires worked fine on both platforms, i don't know why, maybe i'm just unlucky LOL.

sounds like you have similar luck to me lol. upgraded ignition wires for B series Honda's back in the day, had stainless shielding on the outside with leads that you could ground to the valve cover. I would consider doing something similar if I needed to.

@@tony.nextlevelrides well being entirely honest i've seen bad coils do the same thing in CoP setups, ( mostly Ford modular engines with that lovely coolant leak from the plastic intake gasket getting nom nommed by coolant acid over time) but not as prevalent outside of the Ford modular platform, the CoP mod for the DSM's and the SRT4's seemed to have the lowest issues reported, and i myself never experienced one issue using them.

the B58 conversion is tempting. I may do that if I have issues.

I tried to use common sense with my electric ratchet and my oil pan bolts. Knowing my electric ratchet only goes to about 8 ft lbs I figured it wasn't going to break a bolt in the bottom of the block. But it did. And to officially sound like a dumb ass I did it twice.

You don’t buy these. You either run stock style coils to 900whp or you use b58

Accept whatever challenge you want. You paid more money for an outdated option that’s had several years of better products surpass it. The stock coils in good condition will work fine to whatever power a non built engine will make. If you need/want better coils, b58 is data proven to the be the best option

@@typedrew I've seen numerous people shit on LS1 style coil conversion, but can never explain why they suck. I've had those same style coils on a 6.0 Turbo LQ Truck build making over 900whp on a mustang dyno, granted the LQ has 2 more coils.. But they were fine at that power level. And they weren't even special coils. Just whatever shit 15$ coil I could find that fit on the relocation brackets. I've got eldor coils now on the car, but if I ever start having problems, I would like to know "WHY" I should avoid these, not just "dont use em,. they suck"

@@EvlEglePeople hear someone say and just run with it with no person experience. I use to hear "don't get an n54 they're unreliable blah blah blah..." My 335i is at 195k miles and running. Of course being an older car it's going to come with old car problems. Since it's old there's plenty of information out there on common problems and what to jump on before those problems start to show, which is how I've made it to 195k miles on the original 07 motor...on the "unreliable" car😂

Why do so many BMW Owners shit all over the Precision Kit?
@tony.nextlevelrides
@tony.nextlevelrides 4 ай бұрын
not sure, I've had great experience with them other than one instance. I let the car idle and it randomly dropped a hole. the coil took a dirt nap but PR was quick to offer a replacement. I've got nothing bad to say about them!

@@tony.nextlevelrides I've pushed the ls1 style coils to over 900 whp (mustang dyno) in a 6.0 lq truck build. Granted there were 8 coils, not 6.
